Post Will Marshall be a Dolphin?
My firend that i grew up with writes for skinnypost.com. Look it up. his name is Steven O'reilly, and he interviews NFL insiders for his job, and does work in Florida, Baltimore, and all over the US. He told my brother about the Dansby thing the day before it happened, and now he said that Miami will package picks, and Ted Ginn Jr. to the Broncos for....you guessed it...BRANDON MARSHALL!!! This is why the trifecta didn't trade for Holmes, and this is why he signed his tender today, and the news came out about the Phins trying to trade Ginn. Here are some links to the news about the tender signing, and Ginn being shopped. Add it all up and you have a trade between the Phins, and Broncos!!

That is the one about Marshall and his tender

Actually all he said on Marshall was that he the Phins weren't into Diva receivers. He never said that they weren't interested in Marshall.
I also recently saw on another board a rumor concerning the Phins trading for Marshall.

I'm not an insider, so I cannot read this article, but it is in here.

If you say so.
I specifically remember the comment and Sporano beat around the bush and never said anything directly about Marshall. He only mentioned diva receivers. Besides, there is nothing to say that they couldn't change their mind.

Still not buying this. Its cool that your buddy gets inside info, and I trust that he does, but I take this as smoke for people trying to pin Miami to selecting Dez Bryant. Miami floats out there that they are going after Marshall and suddenly other teams may not be as worried (at the moment) to deal up for Bryant.

Why would Miami, who has many holes to fill, trade away picks in a very deep draft? If they landed multiple picks for Brown and Smiley it might lead to believe something is up, or maybe if they packaged Ginn, Smiley and a future pick (but why would Denver take that when Seattle would probably give a 2nd rounder).

I agree Ginn and some of r other picks noway we need more than just a (wr) and the only real thing we have to bargin with is Brown,Smiley and a day 2 pic risky very ricky.....

The only thing we can count on the FO doing for sure is...............is saying all the thing to keep us and the rest of the league guessing

i believe the asking price for marshall was a second rounder...who wouldnt give a second round draft choice for a proven, pro bowl caliber wr? hell, even throw in ginn. then with the first round pick, we could pick up either a defensive player, or cj spiller (how SICK would our offense get if we picked up marshall and spiller?).

Well the asking price would be new as he just signed his tender today and became tradable.

Previously he was a restricted free agent with a 1st round tender, so the 'hawks would have had to give up the 6th overall pick for him

The one thing I'll give ya MD is that I read from one analyst, on ESPN, that Marshall talks will heat up soon and Miami should be a darkhorse candidate (they were the only other team mentioned with Seattle).

I still have a hard time believing it.

I think it can happen... obviously we want some playmakers... and Marshall is a huge playmaker.

It would be a great move for the Dolphins, but I doubt we do it. I don't think we would outbid Seattle for him. In fact, if Seattle gets Marshall, you can almost guarantee Dez Bryant will go the Broncos....and we will be left wondering what our team might have been with a legit passing game.

Maybe they realized that and that could be why they are getting involved. It will be interesting to see if there is truth to this and how it plays out, if so.

With this deep a draft I wouldn't give a second round pick for Marshall in this draft. If the pick was for next year and Ginn, I wouldn't even blink. In all honesty, I think we can get 4 or 5 starters with our first five picks.

This is a pretty interesting rumor. I would not mind picking up Marshall. I hope the FO really does take a look at this, because after Holmes got traded for a 5th, maybe the price on Marshall will drop. Im all for it, he is a beast

We know these players have been mentioned as being available for a trade. Brown, Thigpen, Pennington, Ginn & Smiley. It is possible a package deal for some of them and a pick or even a trade involving three teams could be done.

and allow 40 points a game ;) No, I'm hoping for either a tradedown or a defensive addition at 12. Ronnie is going to be lethal with Marshall taking some attention

AFC East? Pssht. Before Ronnie went down we were one of the top offenses in the league last year. Now with Marshall. We could legitimately be one of the best in the LEAGUE.

- Teams cannot stack the box anymore like they did: Running Game becomes more potent
- Brandon Marshall instantly improves our passing game, not to mention an improving Henne.
- Brandon Marshall makes all of our WR's better. Ginn going deep with Marshall on the field now is enough to scare ANY Defensive coordinator. Couple that with our potent running attack and there is the potential to be one of the best Offenses in the league.. And balanced at that.

Yep. Brees and the Saints were the top offense last year. Indianapolis will always be up there as long as Peyton is back there. But neither of those teams can run it.

Miami was at the top of the league in rushing a year ago, and that won't go away. Henne developed wonderfully, and he'll play better (there will of course still be picks, but a throw like in Tennessee in OT I doubt you'll see) and now you add a weapon like Marshall that can score wherever, whenever, Miami could be the best offense.

Of course, that's all on paper. Continuity and team play still has to occur.
