3 excellent options, 3 smart choices for what this team needs.

I'm hoping we draft Lane Johnson or Jonathan Cooper at 12.
I'd be really happy if our O-Line looked like this:
LT - Jonathan Martin
LG - Ritchie Incognito
C - Mike Pouncey
RG - Lance Louis
RT - Lane Johnson
and even happier if it looked like this:
LT - Jonathan Martin
LG - Jonathan Cooper
C - Mike Pouncey
RG - Ritchie Incognito or Lance Louis
RT - Eric Winston

I have to still believe Tyler Eifert is still lurking on Miami's radar as well.

Don't discount this kid, if he stays healthy, he is going to be an excellent NFL player.

His catch radius in the Red Zone would be huge. He's definitely an option.

Walker is connecting the dots on team needs and what the analysts are saying.

Drafting corners and safeties in the 1st is dumb IMO, especially if Austin or a stud DE is on the board.

I've seen you post this sentiment several times, Mak. Why do you say this? If you can get an elite CB isn't it worth investing a 1st round pick in? It's a passing league, right? I understand that pass rush hides a lot of secondary flaws, but I still think you overstate things. Then again that's why I ask you to explain your position; because I don't pretend to be a draft guru.

I don't see any of those 3 as options.

I think it's down to Austin, Trufant, or a DE.

I don't see Eifert at 12. Not saying I'm against it, but I just don't see them pulling the trigger on him that early.

Ireland was quoted last week as saying he was interested in drafting the positions that were expensive: QB, WR, saline and CB. I would have to agree with the logic. That would make CB one of those positions in play.

you can take this to the bank. Jeff Ireland would be doing backflips if Lane Johnson somehow finds his way to number 12.

Am I the only one not high on Kenny Vaccaro?

Vaccaro really is a fantastic player. Some team will get a great addition to their defense.

I don't know. I watched a lot of Big 12 ball (being an Iowa State fan), and I've never been all that impressed with Vaccaro. He doesn't have much in the way of speed. He's very capable in man coverage, but I'm not convinced he's a good zone player. He also has a tendency to miss tackles. Maybe I'm a little biased against him, but I wouldn't like to see us grab him in the first round.

I have a Vaccaro thread from about 6 weeks ago on here. Full of alot of good analysis.
He's the real deal. I think he'll be a top 5 NFL safety in 2 years.

Quote:
Texas FS Kenny Vaccaro ran forty times of 4.59 and 4.63 at the NFL Scouting Combine.
They're not sensational times at first glance, but Vaccaro weighs 214 pounds and is very light on his feet even if his straight-line speed isn't sensational. In last year's West Virginia-Texas game, Vaccaro gave Tavon Austin all kinds of problems in the slot; Austin was only able to get open against Texas' other DBs. Vaccaro remains a strong candidate to be drafted in the top 25.
