I'm sort of on the fence with Grimes. Two significant injuries in two years. The guy was a heck of a player a couple of years ago, but it's hard to tell what he's got left in the tank after knee and achilles injuries.

I hate to admit, but I don't know as much about the guy as I should. Were both injuries to the same leg?

I have to wonder if Miami is okay going forward with Patterson, Marshall and Carroll as the veteran depth and doubling down on corners in the first 3 rounds. They really seem to like Patterson.

I don't see them trading up for Millner but its always a possibilty.

According to PFF, Brent Grimes was the third rated corner in 2011 behind Darrelle Revis and Cortland Finnegan.

He was 10th in 2010.

By the way, Antoine Winfield has been #1 twice. In 2010 and 2012 and at last check he was still out there. He was #9 in 2011.

I know he's old, but man he's good and they run zone coverage in Minnesota.

As old as Winfield is, I would still love to see him in a Dolphins uniform

He'd be an interesting option to bring in on a one year deal. If we signed him for cheap, and drafted a pair of cornerbacks, I think we'd be set. Not only that but Winfield would make a great mentor for the younger players as they transition into the NFL.

La Canfora reporting that Miami is very much in on Grimes and a deal could be done soon. If healthy he's a nice veteran acquisition.

I agree.


I like. It doesn't change the need to draft DBs, but it does change the intensity of the need. Same as the signing of Louis at OG. Sign Winston, and we can truly think BAP, with priorities in mind (DB, pass rusher, OT)

Been thinking the same thing. He would be a great one year fill in to help Miami avoid the we have to fill both spots this year high in the draft.
