Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
Quote: The Miami Dolphins aren't finished re-signing their own players.
NFL.com's Jeff Darlington reports quarterback Matt Moore has decided to stay in South Florida, signing a new contract with the Dolphins, according to a source close to the player. This comes hours after Miami re-signed wide receiver Brian Hartline.
Terms of Moore's new contract were not immediately known and the Dolphins have yet to announce the deal. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000 ... matt-moore

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
That is awesome news.
I'm starting to wonder about other potential FA signings that we've been speculating.

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
It really is great news. I wonder how they convinced him to stay on as a backup rather than search for a starting role.

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
This is great news. I was afraid Moore was a luxury Miami could not afford to resign. He is a solid QB.

I'm happy about this. I do think he could have started somewhere, but he would have been a 1 year band aid.

Thought his arm would've been perfect for Fitz here in AZ.

Speculation is when his agent spoke to teams with a need at QB, he didn't see a clear path for Moore to become a starter, which is surprising. He is certainly better than at least 20% of the QBs that started last year, probably more.

Wow.........didn't see this one coming........if there ever was a year for Moore to test the FA market it was this one. He must realize being the next Don Strock isn't such a bad thing.

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
A lot of speculation on it...
My speculation is his wife and he decided they would rather not move, 8 mil is a nice payday. He will be a 31 year old FA, surely not past his prime and will be able to asses the market then..
Its really a smart move if a person is able to put ego and pride aside. Now he has no pressure, just show up to work and have fun...

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
Quote: According to Jeff Darlington of NFL.com, who broke the news of Moore's re-signing, the quarterback got a two-year, $8 million deal.
By re-signing Moore, the Dolphins avoided a potential problem. Ryan Tannehill is the undisputed starter on this team, but Moore is just about the perfect backup — someone good enough to be a starter but also a team-first guy who will accept his role. http://mia.scout.com/2/1272746.html

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
I am glad Moore is staying, but I am surprised he didn't try to get a starting gig elsewhere. It is good for the Dolphins though.

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
Elated that Matt Moore is still with the Dolphins. Having a "QUALITY" backup quarterback is important in this league.
Miami can win games with Matt Moore on the field if Tannehill get's hurt.

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
I have to say that there is still a part of me that wishes Matt Moore was the franchise QB Miami had been looking for...and I say that as a huge Tannehill fan. He would have been awesome to watch if he could just be a bit more consistent in his overall game. I was very opposed to giving him a fair shake at first because I wanted to give Henne a chance to succeed but in retrospect Moore just has that personality you root for.
I'm very happy he's coming back.

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
Solid move, Moore is a great backup. He's 100% worth the 2-year $8M deal. Having a quality backup like Moore is a luxury and one we'll be glad to have if Tannehill ever gets banged up.

Re: Dolphins stay busy - Resign Matt Moore
Nice backup & I am glad he is coming back in that role but if I am a team in need of a starting QB & signed Moore to be that I might yawn once instead of twice.
