Hate to say it. Harvin is a "product of the system". Everyone is so set on stopping Peterson, that Harvin gets away with his one-on-ones that he can exploit. Yes, he is a home run hitter, but he can't do it alone..... If Miami were to grab him via trade, we would need a more threatening backfield.

Harvin plus resigning Bush............ that would make things kinda interesting, especially if both were in motion a lot causing match up problems.

Harvin plus Wallace/Bowe/Jennings..........eh!!! there would be no legitimate running threat and everyone could play cover 2 press on us all day long (Yes I know Miller is competent, but who is gonna give him any respect until he does something)

Just saying. Im all for trading a low 2 or 3rd for Harvin, giving him an incentive laden extension (he wants Megatron money, great..... $4 million bonus if he breaks 1500 yards, $4 million bonus for 10+ TDs, $2 million bonus for 90+ receptions.... there's your 10 million, now earn it!) but he's gotta be paired with more than just Bess, Miller and Fasano. It wont work if that is the big acquisition

Only in Madden football would you be able to acquire Harvin AND Wallace/Bowe/Jennings.

C'mon man. Good luck telling Harvin to "earn it" with an incentive-laden deal.

So many products of the system. Makes me wonder. Do we have a system?

Lets offer Detroit a ball boy for Megatron. I think they'll consider it.

Post Re: Minnesota looking to trade Percy Harvin
That was exactly my point.... Harvin plus Wallace/Bowe/Jennings is highly unlikely, and wouldnt be plausible to spend 20 million on 2 WRs....

second, yea..... tell him you would give him an incentive laden contract. He wants big boy Megatron Larry/Fitz money, but he doesnt have the numbers, nor health stability, nor attitude to merit it......... now if not ever. But if it is all about the contract.... set him up with either contract life time incentives, or yearly incentives, or both..... something to the nature of a 4 year $60 million extension with all incentives applied........ $3 million per year ($12 total), maybe a $7 guaranteed signing bonus ($19 now), $2 million in work out bonuses ($21), $5 million for 24 TDs in the 4 year contract length ($26), $5 million for 330 receptions in contract length ($31), $5 million for 3800 yards ($36), $1 million for 900 yards in a season ($40), $1 million for 8+ TDs in a season ($44), $1 million for 80+ receptions ($48 million), $3 million for playing in 80% of all games ($51), $2 million annual roster bonus (heres the kicker, make it applied for day one of training camp to prevent any hold outs, ($59), and toss the last million in there somewhere....

In event he would have about 4.67 million guaranteed a year, another 2 for showing up to camp on time so 6.67 a year...... and the rest would have to be earned.

Look at his stats
TDS REC YDS GP
2009 6 60 790 15
2010 5 71 868 14
2011 6 87 967 16
2012 3 62 677 9
Total 20 280 3302 54

If he duplicated his first 4 years over the next 4 years.... he would have only achieved the yearly bonuses for receptions and yards in 2011....

add that all up and it would have come out to a 4 year 33 million deal. but on paper it would say 4 year 60 million, enough to satisfy his ego, and team friendly enough to make him need to produce. And on top of that, itd be about 8 million per season, which might be high, but it is exactly what we would be spending on a wallace, bowe, or jennings type and younger at the same time.
