Which QB under 25 would you pick to start a franchise with?
that was the question posed to Heath Evans on Total Access tonite. Did he say Robert Griffin? No. Andrew Luck? No. Russell Wilson? No. Colin Kaepernick? No.
he said..............Ryan Tannehill. LOL
Just thought that was very interesting.
His reasoning was that he said he would want the closest young QB to Aaron Rodgers and he said that was Tannehill. He was impressed how he improved all year and never seemed like the game was too big for him.
I know it's just one man's opinion but I have to say I've heard nothing but glowing praise for our quarterback after his first season. Here's to a great long career with our beloved Dolphins Ryan!

correction, i missed the part where he chose Andrew Luck first. I must have missed that part before i tuned into NFL Network.
But his 2nd choice was Ryan Tannehill over all those other studs.

I think Kaepernick will be Bradyesque , winning multiple super bowls. But i would take Tannehill over anyone of those other flash in the pans.

Well if your listening to the people who are paid to analyze and give their opinion you wont find much bad on RT. He was not expected to even start...
Now fans, thats a different story. We want ROY, Pro Bowl future HOF play now, not later... LMAO

Luck. He took a 2 win team to the playoffs as a rookie. I would say RT and Kapernick would be my tie 2nd choice. I can't wait to see RT with more weapons and I think kapernick will be dangerous with another WR other than Crabtree. RG3 will never last unless he throws from the pocket and Russell will slump IMO.

If this topic was posted 7 days ago, Id go with John Stafford...but he just turned 25. Under 25, Id go with Cam Newton, Kaepernick, Wilson, then Luck.

Wilson and Kaepernick improved all year long ..... and none of the other rookie QB's listed looked like "the game was too big for them". Also to compare Tanny to Rodgers is absurd at this point.

There is little doubt that Andrew Luck will be the NFL's future poster boy for the position...the kid is incredible, it just has me envious as a Fins fan...we wait well over a decade to get even a half decent quarterback post-Marino...it takes the Colts 6 months to get over Manning and replace him with another young all star... unbelievable....

That's kinda why I hate the 49ers so much.. They went from Joe freakin' Montana to some guy named Steve Young.. That's just unfair!

ya, the history of this league is all about teams stepping in crap and getting a chain of Hall of Fame quarterbacks while the rest of the league eats scraps.

Re: Which QB under 25 would you pick to start a franchise with?
I'm not sold in Kaepernick.
Yes, he has tremendous physical tools, strong arm and speed as a runner. But the offense he was running is one that when teams get more film on, they'll figure out how to defend it. He was basically doing one read and run, much like Cam Newton his rookie season.
Once teams started figuring Cam out, his numbers took a dip.
At the end of the day, the best QBs in the NFL are still those that can carry a team, run the hurry up offense and pick teams apart.
Kaepernick is not one of those guys right now. He has very good complimentary pieces and a dominant defense, but he can't drop back and pick defenses apart.
