Post Slim Pickings for FA O-Linemen
Doesn't seem to be a lot of options in FA to upgrade the line. This brings up a few points.

- Need to upgrade the Line in the draft........expect two of our top 5 picks to be spent on the O-Line......possibly our 1st rd pick.

- Expect big FA signings at DB & WR.

- Long's gone, he'll get what he's looking for in FA.

The draft is deep at cornerback while in free agency Sean Smith might be considered the cream of the crop.

I don't see us going DB in free agency.

Maybe, but there's going to be some big name DB's hitting the market.

Pay Andy Levitre (BUF) - OG and get a RT in the draft! I believe we should focus on landing 3 FA's. WR (Wallace) CB (Cary Williams, Mike Jenkins etc) and OL (Levitre). I would say 4 but only if we can get Jared Cook to fill our TE need.

The rest of our needs should be filled in the draft!

If we head into the draft needing to draft an OT with 1 of our first two picks, so help me God...

The only player on that list I'd be interested in is Levitre, and I don't see Buffalo letting him go without a fight. If that's the case, I'd rather not see us spend a ton of cash on an offensive guard. Every other position you listed I'd much rather address with a draft pick than any of those players.

I don't think that will be the case at all Rich..

Aquib Talib, CB, New England
Domonique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Philadelphia
Keenan Lewis, CB, Pittsburgh
Chris Houston, CB, Detroit
Leodis McKelvin, CB, Buffalo
Sam Shields, CB, Green Bay (RFA)

These are all CB considered better than Sean or the same caliber of player. Cary Williams of Baltimore is not far behind either.

I like Keenan Lewis of Pittsburgh and Mike Jenkins of Dallas is a guy that was a Pro Bowler at one point and may want to come home to Florida.

TE Jared Cook is a kid I love and would definitely give the Dolphins that Red Zone and seam threat the Dolphins need.

I think I would offer Jake Long a contract at 8 mill/per year, as he is not the player he once was, but he still can be very solid when healthy. Jonathan Martin needs to get much stronger to handle the bull rush. If Jake wants to test free agency, which he probably will, I'm not real comfortable with Martin at OLT. Kyle Long could be a kid to look at out of Oregon, as he has played OLT while with the Ducks.

This is a deep draft...we can find a RT in the 3rd round!

Quote:
"Insiders" tell the Miami Herald free agent G/T Nate Garner could command a contract worth $3 million annually.
Garner filled in as the Dolphins' starting left tackle after Jake Long tore his triceps last season, and played exceedingly well. The four-year veteran has appeared in all 48 games the past three seasons, making 13 starts while sliding all over the line. Still only 28, the 6-foot-7, 325-pound lineman could find a team willing to gamble on him as a cost-effective starter.
