Re: OT: Jets fire Fist Pump
Maybe he can go back to being an offensive line coach.

Despite his recent failures as a coach and coordinator, this is a guy who knows football and has been around the game/league for a long time. He likely has many friends out there who would be willing to offer him a job.

Same reason Dave Wanndstache got hired in Buffalo. Old boy network is strong in the NFL.

He still deserved better when he was fired , it wasnt done in a great way.

He still deserved better when he was fired , it wasnt done in a great way. He wasn't a bad guy. Nor was he completely incompetent. But he wasn't up to the task and it was time for him to go. His time with the Jets was fated to end in disaster quickly: A bad QB. A horrible locker room. A ridiculous head coach. A joke of a backup QB who has people pushing for him to be the starter. Oh, and a push for more Wildcat. He was screwed

The Miami Herald reports Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and General Manager Jeff Ireland are meeting with former Dolphins head coach Dave Wannstedt about a defensive assistant position with the team.

Are we going to have to start liking the guy who killed Ricky Williams career by giving him the ball to much again?

Re: OT: Jets fire Fist Pump
At least Wannstedt got this team to the playoffs....he was certainly not the worst coach this organization has had as of late....
Kind of like Fiedler at QB....he looks better and better as the years go by and the QB's come and go from Miami with the regularity of swallows to Capistrano...

He was easily the worst coach in the NFL at the time and is the worst coach in Dolphins history. I'd bring him in as Assistant Defensive Waterboy, but not much else.

Re: OT: Jets fire Fist Pump
Definitely worse than Cam Cameron. A terrible hire by the Jets considering the guy never called any plays here. Our offense was always hand-cuffed to whoever was the O coordinator and Sparano never showed that he had any sort of distinct offensive philosophy. Did a terrible job managing the Tebow thing because the wildcat rage was never his thing here. All David Lee and Henning.

The good news is that I was just kidding about Wanny being interviewed!
I was waiting for Dave to at least make a comment, so I am pretty disappointed!
