 Seattle
So, I know it's taboo to talk about the potential successes of other teams, but I've written a post predicting the Seahawks going to the Super Bowl. Am I just a prisoner of the moment here, given all they've done in the off-season or might I be on to something here?

 Re: Seattle
They have a solid team. They should be considered one of the top two teams in the NFC. There are a ton of variables that could come into play. And once you get to the playoffs, it is hard to predict.
But to put them in the Superbowl is a better prediction than putting most other teams there.

 Re: Seattle
Seattle seems to have a lot of things in place. Promising young QB, solid run game and a stout defense.
Getting Percy Harvin gives them a lethal weapon if he can stay healthy. The team they have to beat in the division, San Fran, is a team they match up with well.
The question is, can they live up to those expectations? That has got a many of teams.
By the way, our young Dolphins beat that bunch in Miami. The last lost they had until they lost to the Falcons in Atlanta in the playoffs.

 Re: Seattle
I can see a Seattle/San Francisco NFC title game next year, easily.

 Re: Seattle
my money is on Denver and San Francisco. But Seattle seems like a top 5 team. Have to see Wilson prove it for another year. Kaepernick too.

If your reason for not saying Seattle is that you need to see Wilson prove it for another year, how do you have San Fran and say that Kaepernick needs to do the same thing?

San Fran probably has the most talented roster in the NFL. Great coaching too. I also said Seattle is one of the best teams.

I'm not sure that I agree, I think they're pretty even.

 Re: Seattle
we are better than Seattle. we have the better QB & I believe we would have also beaten them last season even in Seattle.

 Re: Seattle
FINesse wrote: we are better than Seattle. we have the better QB & I believe we would have also beaten them last season even in Seattle. How exactly do you figure? Yes, we beat them in the regular season, but let's look at the facts here. They finished the season 11-5 and made the playoffs, we finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs. Right there that tells you that Seattle is the better team. But, let's take this further, shall we? "we have the better QB". Well, no. That statement doesn't hold up. Ryan Tannehill did throw for more yards than Russell (by only 176), but Russell threw for 14 more touchdown and 3 less interceptions than Tannehill did. He also completed his passes at a far better percentage than Ryan did (64% to 58%). Russell also led his team to more victories than Tannehill did, and made the playoffs, as has already been stated. He also has one more playoff victory under his belt than Tannehill does. Okay, enough about the Quarterback comparison, let's look at the rest of the team. The running game: Marshawn Lynch was third in the NFL in rushing yardage with 1,590 yards. This is more than Reggie Bush, Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas had COMBINED by 29 yards. Receiving: Brian Hartline, who was our leading receiver, had about 300 yards more than Seattle's leading receiver, Sidney Rice, so I'll give you the nod there. Our receivers did out perform theirs. Now, on to the defense. The Seahawks defense allowed the fewest points in the NFL last season, and the fewest points per game (duh). The Miami defense ranked seventh in these categories. While seventh is by no means a bad ranking, it doesn't beat number 1. By that measure alone they have the better defense. But, let's look a little further here too. We each scored two defensive touchdowns last season, so that's a wash. Their defense allowed seven fewer touchdowns than ours did. They allowed two fewer rushing touchdowns and three fewer receiving touchdowns. Their special teams unit also allowed two fewer touchdowns than ours did. So, as you can clearly see when you look at it statistically, Miami is, in almost no statistical categories, better than Seattle. As much as I love our Dolphins, I also love being accurate, and to say that Miami is a better team than Seattle is just blatantly inaccurate.
