 With the 6th pick in the 2008 draft, the New York Jets selec0 sacks, 5 starts and 12 tackles in 45 games.
Quote: NEW YORK -- The Jets announced Wednesday that they have waived former first-round draft pick Vernon Gholston after three disappointing seasons. The defensive end was the sixth overall pick in the 2008 draft out of Ohio State. Gholston made just five starts and didn't record a sack in 45 regular-season games. Gholston didn't play in any of the Jets' playoff games last season. The Jets also said Wednesday they had released backup tight end Ben Hartsock. Re: With the 6th pick in the 2008 draft, the New York Jets selec I can recall a friend of mine, who happens to like the Jets, telling me how Gholston would get the best of Jake Long over the years.
I guess its pretty safe to say that he was a little off on that one! |
