Post HARRIS POLL: FAVORITE NFL TEAMS -- Dolphins at #10
I am surprised that we are at #10. You'd think we'd be nationally televised more on Sunday afternoons.

Look at all those bandwagon Broncos fans.

Surprised to see the Chiefs so low.

People complain about Marty-ball, but he put the Chiefs into the playoffs every year. Winning brings in the fans. Plus, having Montana there for a couple of years didn't hurt either.

I can tell you living in a state that is nowhere near Florida, outside of the local teams (Philly/Pitt) I see more Dolphin gear on a regular basis than any other NFL team.

i've always thought of the Dolphins as more of a national team having a large fan base all over America as opposed to having a great local following. They play in an odd part of the country. It feels like you're out of the country when you're there.

Lol I have never felt that I was "out of the country" living here...just because it isn't 95% white, shouldn't give you weird vibes like that.

posts from Dolphins fans in Florida

Quote:
Yeah we have lousy attendance because everyone moved out of here. Not enough DolFans live here anymore, a lot of people that live here now just moved here in the last 5, 10 or 15 years and they are not Dolphin fans even some NYers that been here for 25 years there still not DolFans

Quote:
If you want to solve the attendance issue move the team north to West Palm Beach. It would centralize the fan base. Lets face it most of the fans travel from the north anyway. Miami residents don't show up. Let them travel a hour north to see the team. Move the team to West Palm and now all the fans in south Florida are looking at a Hour to hour and a half drive. Ethnicity has changed the culture in Miami and thus changed the fan base. I don't care how good the team does Miami wont show up. In the early 2000's when Dolphins were 11-5 and making the playoffs every year they still didn't come out. People don't want to drive down there they would rather stay home and watch on tv. Move the team a hour north and everything will change for the better.

Quote:
This is right on point. The loyal fan base is in the greater West Palm area. I made it to 5 games last season and it would have been all of them if the stadium was closer. But I don't see them moving the team 70 miles north. Just keep the team in So Fla! I'll donate money, buy season tickets. Just don't move our Dolphins!

Quote:
Absolutely. I live up in the panhandle and am a diehard Phin fan, but never get to the games because it's a 9 hour drive one way. I'd go to at least half the games if they were in WPB.
