I think they gave him away, but thats me personally. I would have kept him for that.
I will say this though, while I don't agree with this move, this admin has surprised me a couple of times (Dansby and Marshall) with their ability to keep up a smokescreen and then completely surprise ya.

My guess is he would be wide open and still either drop the ball or run out of bounds.

His salary was about to go up. This year and next year. I think we've seen this coming for awhile. They hung on to him until they could replace him.

Im wondering if they figured he would not even make the final cut of starters and just figured trade him while they can..

With this is gives you the idea that we will keep Camarillo - Bess - Hartline, and maybe throw Grice-Mullens into the mix on special teams.

I am thinking right now our #12 is going to go for Thomas, or we trade down.. I dont see us picking up Spiller, if he even makes it to 12..

Cant say I really cared either way with Ginn... Never was his biggest fan, but if I watch the youtube of him burning Revis and 2 other Jets defenders on that 50 yarder, then watch the back to back 100 yard returns, it makes his time here worth while...

With the cut of Porter and the trade of Ginn the only 3 miami jerseys ive ever owned (besides a marino one when i was a kid) the other being Culpepper never lasted as Dolphins. So it seems that anytime I buy a jersey of a player they are soon off the team. Any requests on the next dolphin jersey I should buy =)

The moment Cameron drafted him I said it was a HUGE mistake.
And he showed even less than my low expectations.

I was hoping we would get a 4th rounder for him....but I guess a 5th rounder for a guy you were gonna' end up cutting is about right.

Can we officially call him a bust yet? I was excited about Ginn when he was drafted, but he is proof positive that being a college star...even on a big stage....means nothing in the NFL. It seems we can be somewhat consoled by the fact that passing on Brady Quinn in that draft wasn't too bad a move....

Just wanted to break down my thoughts on Ginn so everyone knows where I used to stand:


Hated the pick. Thought last year was his chance to prove everyone wrong. He failed. Wanted us to get rid of him but for nothing less than a fourth. So I am happy to have him off the team, but think the value just isn't enough considering he does bring something - albeit small - to the table with his returning skills and speed.

So you're allowed to rehash last season with an irrelevant question, while I make a comment based on an event that happened today, and you claim the topic is dead?

No, he's just that bad...but for what it's worth, a 5th rounder this year (depending on the position you're looking at) is about the same as a late 3rd to mid 4th in any other draft. So with a combination of Ginn being bad, and this draft being awesome, yes Miami can easily find a better ball player.

all ginns speed meant was that he could run out of bounds faster. usually 5 yards shy of the first down or any contact from a defensive player.
