1. Andrew Luck and Ryan Tannehill will be compared to the end of their careers considering their 2012 draft class. Luck won the rookie season. Tannehill won Sunday.
In good part, Tannehill won by avoiding the mistake Luck made with a fourth-quarter interception by Brent Grimes. But Tannehill was plenty good for the second straight week, completing 23 of 34 passes for 319 yards, a touchdown and a 107.4 quarterback rating. Luck was 25 of 43 for 321 yards, a TD, the interception and a 79.7 rating.
2. Play of the game: Brent Grimes’ fourth-quarter interception in the end zone ....
3. Stat of the day: The Dolphins didn't have a penalty on Sunday. ...
10. The big concern (at least mine) with the offense was the loss of tight end Dustin Keller in preseason. But the surprise of the offense (at least to me) is Charles Clay has had a couple of impactful games. He followed up a five-catch, 54-yard day in Cleveland with a big five-catch, 109-yard day in Indianapolis. His 67-yard catch in the first half on a perfect pass from Tannehill was longer than all but one Dolphins pass last year. He also lined up as fullback and ran in a touchdown from a yard out. I didn’t think Clay could play like this. Looks like I was wrong.
