Sounding like Cleveland fans. They were chanting the whole game "Weeden sucks! Weeden sucks!"

The coaches have a similar offensive mindset, take the most dangerous players out of the game plan...

Looks like Dave Hyde doesn't agree with Junkie either ...

Quote:
The education of Dion Jordan continued. He came in on pass downs and went against All-Pro left tackle Joe Thomas. He had a few impact plays, chasing Weeden once and getting a hit another time on the quarterback. On the Browns' final drive, he sacked Weeden - and had a facemask penalty. You saw flashes, folks.

I re-watched the game. It wasn't quite as bad as I first thought. He actually dropped back in coverage twice. There was also a series where he alternated with Vernon at DE. So originally I thought I was watching just him but it was both of them.

I'm glad you got that figured out before you wrote a blog on it, Junkie.

I watched the guy from the moment he came on the field. He look like a RB trying to juke a tackler on almost every rush (fact, go watch the tape). His one "sack" came when the QB was forced to his side where he was able to reach out and grab the facemask (fact). He was in the standing position while rushing from the edge (who does that?) <----opinion

So I wonder do you think it is ok to have different opinions now? Do you see as pointed out in your quotes that most of what you had written up to that point was opinion and not fact? As I told you I do not have access to tape so I am not sure why you keep directing me there but I am glad you took your own advice.

I know he had a face mask penalty. As I understand it you do not get credited for a sack when a penalty is called on you. Are you saying that on the play he was credited for a sack that he should have been called for another face mask penalty that was not called?

I'm not sure how that worked. He only got the one sack where he dragged the QB down by the facemask. He did force the QB to step up in the pocket on one other occasion. I'll stand by my prediction he is still about a year or two away from making a serious impact. He'll probably be needed as Wake will be on the decline at that point.

Thanks, I must be thinking wrong about a penalty, at least this one, negating a play or credit in a play.

He didn't get the sack on the play he pulled the facemask... he got both a penalty and a sack on different plays in the game...

Where did he get the sack?

The only time Jordan gets in the play by play is the "sack." http://espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameI ... 5&period=0

By the way, not that I'm complaining, but how stupid is it that you get credited with a sack if you pull the facemask? No way those should count as tackles/sacks, IMO.

I guess that's like baseball's strike him out, let him on 1st play.

:hithead: What was I thinking...lol.

I watched him in the 4th quarter and he shoved the LT back into Ryan's Lap almost every play. It was still a one move pass-rush but why change it if you can do it. Ryan was hurried on several occasions by Jordan and I think it was his rush on the final series that caused the errant throw. Need to go back and review

Shoe leather never tasted so good.

That all right I am sure no one would ever think of officially dubbing you NFLJunkie "footie in mouthy". This is way to classy of a site.
