Post Palm Beach Post predictions for Miami Dolphins’ season
None of our experts thinks the Dolphins will make the playoffs, although three predict a winning record.

Beat writer Hal Habib: 10-6

They’re definitely better. But better than the Ravens, Bengals or Steelers? If the Dolphins can’t finish ahead of two of those three, forget the playoffs.

The Texans or Colts will claim one AFC wild card. That leaves the Dolphins in the mix for the other provided they don’t leapfrog the Patriots for the East, which isn’t a nutty notion.

Ryan Tannehill will be fine and I like Miami’s upgrades at receiver, linebacker and defensive back. Love the picks of CB Will Davis and K Caleb Sturgis. The offensive line is the question, and outstanding teams with questionable OLs are rare

I think you can take the Steelers out of that right now....They are not better than last years Steelers and the aging defense that can't stay healthy is a year older..Like this years 1st round pick..Oh and they lost their best wr. All they have is Ben and he usually gets hurt...The Ravens are not as good or hungry

The Bungles are the team to beat in that division in spite of that horrible coaching staff.

I certainly think we'll be better than the Ravens, Bengals, and Steelers by the end of the season. Ravens shot themselves in the foot this offseason. Flacco was lucky, got overpaid, they let Boldin walk, after he saved their post season, & teams should simply stack the box of Rice. Can you say Hangover? & Steelers D is yet another year older, & their solution to their offensive imbalance, Le'Veon Bell, is already on IR. I heard Andy Dalton miked up (or something to that effect i cant remember) & that guys like a cheerleader. That division will be murky.

Texans & Colts should be solid, its true. So we better take care of business Week 2.

Mr Cohen, what have you been watching for the past couple years? Cuz your comments about Jake Long vs Jonathan Martin sound like you've only been reading cliff notes by rotoworld.

Abramson, your tipping point to .500 was only Keller? Pretty weak dude.

Stoda, its not fancy when the moves were necessary to get us to a position of reasonable competition. In some ways we over achieved last year. Maybe thats good coaching. Time will tell.

Sounds like the opinions in this piece are even split . Half are pessimistic & the others are predicting the bubble where we control our fate. I hope we can learn Something tomorrow night against the Saints cuz we're gonna need every Win we can get in the first 5 weeks

the Steelers and Ravens? There such world beaters these days, the Ravens are a shell of their 2012 selves and overachieved anyway, big time drop off this season. The Steelers are old news.
The rising AFC teams are Miami, Indy and Cincy.

I'm thinking 10-6, but winning 3 more games is taking a leap of faith. The team is young and seems to be on the rise to me. Also, competition is on the slide in the AFC East, but you never know how in-division rivalry can affect a game.

The Ravens and Steelers are very well coached and IMO that alone makes them better than one thinks, even if you perceive them to have less talent.

There is no way 10 wins doesn't get you into the playoffs in the AFC. It's a joke conference right now.

He'll 10 might win you the division.

I'll go 8-8. They're too thin at premium positions for me to feel comfortable. A couple of bad injuries like Keller and we're done.

We NEED TO sweep the Bills and Jets this year, and at the very least, split with New England to have a chance at the playoffs.

That gives us 5 wins in the division, and we'd have to gather 5 more from the remaining games:

@ Cleveland
@ Indy
vs Atlanta
@ New Orleans
vs Baltimore
vs Cincinnati
@ Tampa Bay
vs San Diego
vs Carolina
@ Pittsburgh

I don't think we're strong enough yet to take down Atlanta, New Orleans or Cincinnati... but we sure as hell could beat every other team on that list... and if we lose to the likes of Cleveland, Tampa or San Diego... then we suck.

well we beat Cincinnati and Seattle last year, so we are definitely "Strong Enough" to beat premium teams.

We should definitely be able to compete with all of the above. I'm not worried about it from that standpoint.
