Is Brandon Marshall the most talented WR in Dolphin history?
Purely talent wise, I would have to say yes.
I was not around for the Marks brothers, or Paul Warfield, but this guy is pretty darn good....
What do you guys think?

Mark Clayton. Fearless across the middle, clutch, great hands, and made circus catches on a routine basis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYF3e-Kdzashttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8QXoO0p ... re=relatedNotice Marino's wicked quick release in the second clip.

I think I will wait for him to do something in a Miami uniform for a few years before I make that judgment.

I would say lets let him put the jersey on and play some games before we crown him anything....dont get me wrong he has talent but that was with Denver lets see how he does for us I m hoping big things out of him just like you guys are but still want to wait on my end......I would say toss up between The Marks Brothers and Oj Mcduffie

I would give that honor to Paul Warfield.

I really wish I got to see more of Dan Marino... I was far too young to remember any of it... but just watching those videos makes me envious of you guys who got to watch those teams.

Re: Is Brandon Marshall the most talented WR in Dolphin history?
Right now today. I would say Clayton, Duper, Moore and Warfield were more talented based on what they accomplished in a Phin uniform. I may change my opinion when I see Marshall play as a Dolphin for 1 or 2 years. But I haven't been this excited about the Dolphins in 10+ years.

Re: Is Brandon Marshall the most talented WR in Dolphin history?
I can't give it to Warfield. Loved him as kid but Clayton is clearly the all time Dolphin WR. Warfield was drafted by Cleveland, deserted the Dolphins for the World Football League after 5 years and then ended his career with Cleveland. I look back at Warfield and I see a Browns Player not a Dolphin,(enducted as Brown not a Dolphin). Clayton, drafted by Miami in 83' with Marino and played with us for 11 years. For what he and Dan accomplished and he's not in the HOF is an oversite by the HOV Committee, not a short coming of Mark.
Wikipedia: A favorite target of Dan Marino, he paired with Mark Duper to form the popular "Marks Brothers". He was a five time Pro Bowl player in 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988 and 1991. Clayton finished his 11 year career with 582 receptions for 8,974 yards, along with 108 rushing yards, 40 kickoff return yards, and 485 punt return yards. He also scored 88 total touchdowns (87 receiving and 1 punt return)
He is in the NFL top 50 in receiving yards (tied for 39th) and receiving TDs (tied for 13th). He holds Dolphins records for career pass receptions and TDs, as well as receiving yards in a single season. At one point in time, the Dan Marino-Mark Clayton tandem was the most prolific in NFL history. His 1984 single season record of 18 touchdown catches was broken in 1987 by Jerry Rice and is still tied for the third highest total in NFL history.
In 2003, he entered the Miami Dolphins Ring of Honor, along with fellow "Marks Brother", Mark Duper.
In 2005 he helped punctuate Marino's Pro Football Hall of Fame induction speech by running through the crowd and catching one last pass from the legend thrown from the stage.

I was fortunate PZ to grow up during the Marino era. I was 18 when we drafted Dan. Moved from California to Florida for College and got to see every game for a lot of years. It was pretty special. I've only attended one home game for Miami, 1985-Monday Night against the Bears. Not too bad.

I was born in 1984, so when I was a kid on the playground, Dan Marino was who I always pretended to be. By the time he retired, I was old enough to recognize how great he truly was. I was also a Miami Dolphins lifer. It's been hard, living in Minnesota especially, because they're rarely on TV around here and they only come to town every 8 years or so. I'm lucky this season because I'll get to two games (Minnesota and Green Bay). I was lucky enough to see Marino live a couple of times too. What a treat.

Re: Is Brandon Marshall the most talented WR in Dolphin history?
I would say talent wise and what he has done thus far in his career, he is likely the most talented receiver to come on this team. As for whether he will be the most talented DOLPHINS wide receiver in history, that remains to be seen.

Re: Is Brandon Marshall the most talented WR in Dolphin history?
Most talented - more talented than the "Mark's" without question - whether he lasts as long as the "Marks" did on this roster remains to be seen..., this has boom or bust written all over it..., but Henne is a leader and Nolan spoke up for BM..., so I think the FO did their due diligence everything else remains to be seen

In terms of talent and impact on the team, I have to disagree. I think Clayton was a HOF caliber receiver. Sure, he benefitted from having Marino and Duper, but he still was amazing and dominant on a regular basis for a long time. He is the most talented WR we've had, and Marshall may take that status from him in time, but until he takes the talent he has and actually PRODUCES with the Dolphins on a consistent basis it's meaningless. I was 17 when Marino was drafted and had the luxury of watching him through his whole career with the Marks bros, Fryar, McDuffy, etc. What a great time to be a fan, even w/o a ring.

I was fortunate enough to watch Marino over the years and my vote goes to Clayton. I do hope that Marshall ends up beating him out for the most talented Dolphin WR though. That would be awesome.
