Re: Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
This is a good move IMHO. Now Miami can concentrate on the defense in the draft, which we all know needs some help. We don't have to worry about the WR position at the 12 pick anymore. Bring JT back for another year and draft a FS to shut down the passing attacks on us.

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
Great news! A big contract, but a pro-bowl WR locked up for the next 5 years is one less worry we have as a team. And I bet there are all kinds of clauses/stipulations in that contract about conduct. Despite the concerns, I feel a lot better about Marshall with Nolan giving us the inside scoop on him, than rolling the dice with Dez who hasn't done anything yet and could take 2-3 years to develop into a number 1. We most definately will be trying to move down to get back that second round pick.

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
Hey, we did something!
(I was falling asleep waiting on the draft)
He has some "problems" but catches 100 passes a year, is a 3 time in a row Pro Bowler and is called "The Beast" at 6'4" 230 pounds and is known for picking up yards after the catch.
I like the 2x2nd rounders rather than a 1st because we can take almost anyone with the 12th pick and fill another need.
Plus, I expect that this will stop all the Dez Bryant threads!
I'd keep Ginn for kick offs etc and from time to time let him line up in the slot.
I think Hartline and Marshall will/should be the starters.

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
Can someone post the INSIDER article on ESPN by Joyner about he Dolphins needing to make more moves than Marshall? They teased me and got me interested in the article with a couple free paragraphs.

Never thought it would actually happen though. me too. i was apprehensive to check the news as i thought it was just a lil too soon to get the deal done after the hard core rumors started. i am stoked though

Hal-le-freakin'-leu-jah!!!!!!!!! A real WR in Miami!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A miracle has happened. Our offense should improve big time this season. I love that we didn't have to give up a #1 to get him....the price was steep at any rate, but well worth it. Now....which OLB are we going to take at #12?

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
I am going to take a wait and see attitude because I'm definitely not a fan of prima donna players. However, if he catches 12+ touchdowns with 1,000+ yards and adopts a team first attitude, I will be singing his praises.
Two second round picks is an expensive price tag, especially as well as this FO can draft. Hopefully, the rest of the Dolphins holes can be filled / patched with this year's draft because yesterday our team was more than an elite receiver away from a deep playoff run.
Plus, I am still impressed with the Ravens getting Boldin for a 3rd, 4th, and 5th (2011) and adding Donte Stallworth. It will be interesting to see which acquisition turns out better.

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
I've known this for awhile and haven't been able to get on here but...OH YEAH :D
This is the trade that we needed to put us in the discussion. I just hope it turns out like it should.
And I think it's interesting that compared to everyone who DIDNT want us to go after BM a few months ago, virtually every member on this board is psyched now :p

I guess it's like when you're jealous of somebody else for having something you want, you badmouth it and say you would never want it yourself. But when that thing is Brandon Marshall and he lands in your hands...
