 Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
Adam Schefter just reported that Marshall will be traded to the phins for a 2nd this year and another pick next year. It looks like the pick next year will likely be our number 2 as well.

Re: Brandon Marshall WILL be a Dolphin
Here it is from PFT .. Quote: Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Marshall has been shipped to the Dolphins for a second-round pick in the 2010 draft and "what is thought to be" a second-round selection in 2011. The deal hinges on Marshall passing a physical. (Though a formality, Marshall has had an on-and-off hip issue, the handling of which caused his relationship with the Broncos to sour.)
Marshall also expected to sign "one of the most lucrative wide receiver deals" in league history. The top of the market has been $10 million for more than two years, when Larry Fitzgerald parlayed the eight-figure back end of his rookie deal into a new contract. Others, like Randy Moss and Roy Williams, earn $9 million annually. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/14/broncos-trade-brandon-marshall-to-miami/

Re: Brandon Marshall WILL be a Dolphin
It seems there are no receivers that have no baggage. Like all these guys Marshall , Holmes , Edwards , TO , you make the move & take your chances. Hope this one works out.

 Re: Marshall is a FIN!!!!
I emailed Iowafin a few days ago that I thought Miami would take a run at Brandon. I know Jeff Ireland said Miami would not pursue Marshall or Owens and I knew Owens did not have a chance. But Ireland and given false information before and when Marshall signed his tender which allowed the Broncos to take less than a 1st round pick, I thought Miami would get involved since I thought they were serious about taking Dez Bryant.
Love the trade and fills a huge need with one of the top 5 WR in the league at only 26 years old.

Re: Brandon Marshall WILL be a Dolphin
Great news... Puts our offense at another level...
Now just to get JT back and sign a FS......
You never know Ski.... Could still happen... Would make our passing game pretty scary...

Re: Brandon Marshall WILL be a Dolphin
Dez Bryant @ #12 is pretty much dead, but I think this indicates that Miami realized they needed a big, physical WR and as much as some on this board hated the thought of drafting Bryant, he was very much in play.
I think Miami was entertaining trading down to begin with and they will certainly look more into it now to try to recoup that 2nd round pick back.
If they do trade down, I believe Everson Griffen, the DE/OLB from Southern Cal is definitely in play along with Earl Thomas, the safety from Texas.
Brandon certainly comes with baggage, but he is a top 5 WR in this league and he is 26 years old. He addresses a huge need for Miami and he is a proven commodity.

When I went to sleep last night I hoped I'd wake up to find Marshall was a fin. Never thought it would actually happen though.

So much for the FO not doing anything! Sometimes you need a little patience. Slow and steady wins the race! here is the article from espn: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft10/n ... id=5085644

Re: Brandon Marshall WILL be a Dolphin
I am in agreement with those that have mentioned that he comes with baggage. Of course, Dez Bryant came with baggage as well and in truth, was still a bit of an unknown. At least with Marshall his NFL ability is established. With all things considered which would we rather have, Marshall and the first round (#12) this year or Dez Bryant and the second round (#43) this year and the second round (#64) next year ... you know, since we will get the last pick of the round as defending Super Bowl champs.
One thing it does mean is that if we don't trade down and gather picks, #12 has to be spot-on since it will be a while before we pick again. Gotta be the nose tackle or safety I would guess but who knows. I would still love to see them make the deal that still gets rumored out here at Dallas ... Miles Austin and Dallas' #1 for our #1 but I think that is still a pipe dream. Miles and Marshall? Anyone else think that would be an interesting tandem? Think it can't happen? Recent video seems to indicate if you can get Jerry Jones liquored up, he might just agree to anything.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Dreams do come true for Dolphin fans! This is huge like when we got Ricky Williams and I have that same elated feeling about having Marshall!!
I am beside myself and now hope Brandon steps in and stays out of trouble and I look forward to him dominating as our go to wideout!!!
I say dont trade Ted Ginn. Imagine, Brandon Marshall, Ted Ginn, Davone Bess and Camarillo as our four wide set, with Hartline rotating!!!!!!

 Re: Marshall is a FIN!!!!
I wrote about this before and about how this would be huge for Miami. Marshall is a dominator. He will free up Ginn from double coverage and Bess/Camarillo should flourish. Unbelievable acquisition by Miami

Re: Brandon Marshall WILL be a Dolphin
This has as much to do with wanting to draft defense and not using the pick on another WR hopeful. Now, do they trade all the way up to the third spot for a safety?

Re: Brandon Marshall WILL be a Dolphin
I went to bed expecting this deal to be done today. I clicked on ESPN expecting to see something, but was shocked when I actually saw something. I'm excited! Marshall still is going to have to play nice here, he is going to have to grow up, but if he does we have one of the best receivers in the game.
Hey PR, what did you say last night about this? haha

I was just at a Jets blog and they are playing this down big time and calling it a reactionary move. They say Revis will shut him down but I'm pretty sure Revis was on the Jets the last 3 times they lost to the Phins. So.... bring it

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
Was watching ESPN2 and they were talking about the impact of Marshall. Everyone seemed to agree that this puts the Dolphins in the front battling with the Patsies for the top of the AFC East. 10-6 or 11-5 are possible with an offense that can run and pass. Its amazing we had the limited success we had last season without a passing attack to speak of. This is a great deal. Last year's round two draft pick - Pat White. I'll take one Marshall over two Pat White's.

I think that unless we can get a 4th or better for Ginn, we will likely keep him. Not only would he make a nice compliment to Marshall, but he offers this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpI1wElYoCs&NR=1

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to Dolphins
White was the 2ndary 2nd rounder.. Sean Smith was 2nd round too... If we had 1 2nd round pick last year it would have went for Smith I am sure.... However, I may trade that for Marshall too...
We need alot of help on D still.. No pass rush, young CB's, no FS.... We still need a TE to compliment the passing game & run block, right now we seem to have good blockers that cant catch...
Bring JT back, sign THomas with the # 12 and we may actually stand a chance...
Otherwise we need to be a super high scoring team.. Similar to NO... It will make up for a lack luster deffense...

The deal has been reached, 47.5 million 4 year extension, on top of his 2.5 million this year = 5 years $50 million. wow.
