Right now it appears Miami has a pretty strong three-man rotation at defensive end with Cameron Wake, Olivier Vernon and rookie No. 3 overall pick Dion Jordan. Wake is starting on one side. Vernon and Jordan will compete for the other starting job, but both will get playing time. The Dolphins have been comfortable this spring moving Jared Odrick inside to defensive tackle. That also strengthens that rotation with Odrick, Paul Soliai and Randy Starks. Miami definitely has some monsters up front this year.

The D-line rotation is our deepest and most talented squad on the team. They didn't even mention everyone who will likely see some snaps this year. Hopefully that will make the secondary's job a lot easier. I wish we had that kind of depth on the O-line as well.

The DL is by far the strongest unit on this team.

Yeah, Jordan is the only new addition, everyone else is a carryover from last season.....

But Jordan makes them all better...The rotation will keep the guys better rested. And Odrick being inside makes those guys stronger too.

Which is why all off season i screamed for another pass rusher.

This will most likely be the last year Miami has both Soliai and Starks. They should be tough against the run. Hopefully Vernon and Jordan can add some pass rush opposite Wake.

I fully expect our defensive numbers to improve significantly from where they were last year. You don't bring in the kind of talent we did and not see an improvement, provided everyone is and stays healthy

The Dolphins lost Tony McDaniel, but signed Vaughn Martin from San Diego.

A strong DL makes the secondary even better.

More specifically a strong pass rush.

It was just in response to this question, "@bluehairspecial18m via Twitter writes: Who is odd man out for Dolphins at DE? "

I hears ya Dave, I guess we see different comments being exploited out and my personal reaction was like, well Miami basically has the same starting line with exception of drafting Jordan, Vernon going into year two, Odrick being shifted over and Vaughn signed as depth for McDaniel.

However, I am not knocking it as I have high hopes for the line to help the secondary improve more this year.

I should have posted the question with the original post as it would have made a little more sense.

So, who is the odd man out (if anyone)?

I don't think anyone is the odd man out, I think they use a rotation to get everyone on the field and keep everyone healthy and fresh
