Pro Football Focus does great work. According to their metrics, Wake is the top ranked 43 DE in the NFL with a score of 45. JPP is 2nd....with 24.
Last year Wake was 1st among 34 OLB's in the NFL. In 2010 he was 3rd. In 2009 he was 3rd.
Assuming he gets 3 sacks in these last 3 games, he'll have had 40 sacks in the last 3 seasons. JT's best every 3 year span consisted of 41.5 sacks.
His consistency year in and year out is ridiculous. He doesn't make as many impact plays as Jason Taylor did obviously, but I think his overall impact on this defense is very compatible. Had he not waited until he was 28 to realize his potential, I think he's a 1st ballot HOF type player.
