Davone Bess takes advantage of Seattle's 8 in box defense
Dave Hyde wrote: Davone Bess (seven catches for a season-high 129 yards), showed how the Dolphins took advantage of a Seattle defense that played eight in the box and one safety 25 yards off the line. Strange formation. And it seemed to go against what teams had effectively done in recent games of clogging the short passing lanes. On the final drives, though, the Seahawks played two-deep safeties.
"There were spots in the middle that were open,'' said Bess, who had two catches of 19 and 25 yards on the final drive. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miam ... 8638.story

Bess had a solid game, perhaps his best of the year. It would have been even better had he not fallen down on that big play.

For now, they can focus on catching all they want. JUST GO UP AND GET THE MUTHEREFFER!

There was no reason why Bess fell. RG3 has those passes all year the WR catches and walks into the endzone.

C'mon WK .... the pass wasn't exactly in stride. It's because Bess decided to turn around, square up, and jump for the ball instead of tracking it over his shoulder. He caught it, so it was the right decision in my eyes. But had he not fallen down it could have been the longest reception of his career and probably his second touchdown this year. At the end of the day it doesn't matter that Bess fell. He set a career high and helped us pull off a big home win. He had a great game.

I've seen him do it with Henne, Moore and Tannehill. It breaks his stride and limits his YAC. That one was on him.

I think it just has something to do with his mechanics. He's much more comfortable turning around, squaring up, and jumping up to get the ball than he is tracking it over his shoulder. But really, who cares so long as he catches the dang thing.
