Post Our Offense is Stagnant
Most of the attention is being paid to the Defense today, but the Offense hasn't been anything special the past few weeks. Defenses are packing the box and daring us to throw.........Hartline and Bess are reliable and have great hands, but they're not the answer. Bush is our most dynamic player, we have to find a way of getting him the ball in space. I'd like to see him rolled out more often to WR..........more screen passes.........more draws. Running up the middle against 8-man fronts isn't working.

Our secondary will continue to be our achiles heel, if we're going to make a run at the playoffs we'll need to win shootouts.

Yeap, until protection holds up well enough to bomb them deep, Miami will keep seeing this.

Just as a side note, I hope that the problems along the OL don't make RT gun-shy. He looked a little jumpy in the 2nd half which lead to some poor throws

Tannehill had a solid game. He was taking some nasty shots in the pocket all game long. You can't say enough about the kid's toughness and willingness to hang tough in the pocket and take shots. It's a rare trait.

But Tannehill will never take that next step until we're properly protecting him. The offensive line let him down in this game. The Colts were eating Jake Long alive and Pouncey had multiple bad penalties. There were a couple of hits Tannehill took that I was sure he'd gotten a concussion. Luckily he got back up. The offensive line needs to do a better job.

If you want to know why our offense is stagnant, just look at the majority of the formations we're in, they're two wideout sets. The reason we only have two wideouts most of the game is because we need to keep a tightend and fullback in the game to pass protect. We are constantly using Fasano as an inline blocker to help out Martin, and we're constantly using Lane and Thomas to help out Long. When the five guys up front are able to handle the pass rush by themselves, then we'll see this offense take off. Until then, Tannehill will simply have to make do with what he has., which is limited.

In addition, our secondary was just terrible today. Luck did everything but gift wrap a couple of those throws and we couldn't come down with them. Had our defensive backs caught a couple of Luck's bad throws, that could have been a very different game.
