Post Cardinals thoughts on losing ILB Karlos Dansby
Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt wrote:
“We wanted Karlos, and tried to keep him, but we knew there was a pretty good chance he was going to move on. First of all, Karlos can do a lot of things for you. He’s a three-down player, and he fills a lot of different needs, as far as a cover down, third down, a guy who can rush, play man coverage. And he’s very good on first and second down, especially recognizing what opponents are doing and being able to go sideline to sideline. He’s a very smart football player. I think he grew a lot in the leadership aspect of it, which I think comes from playing a lot and making big plays for us. So there were a number of things we really liked about Karlos, and he’s going to be hard to replace. When you look at him and his ability to move, some of the matchups you can use him for, he can play at a high level….. We knew that once he got to free agency — which we felt like he would because we tried to negotiate a number of different times during the period where we could do that, and we weren’t successful — that he was going to see what the market dictated. And if there was one team that was willing to really pay him, then it was going to be tough for us.”

well.....sounds like we got a good one. A little different than last year when we picked up the Raiders scraps in Gibril. I think he is really going to help our ILB corp. Him and Channing is going to be a good combo. Can't wait to see how Wake has developed.
