Post Gaining RESPECT
The Miami Dolphins have been on the cusp of winning for three weeks. But on Sunday they finally earned a big road win over the Cincinnati Bengals. It ended Miami's two-game losing streak, which included back-to-back overtime losses.

A win finally gave the Dolphins some respect in ESPN.com's Power Rankings. Miami had the second-biggest jump this week by moving up seven places to No. 19. This is Miami’s highest ranking this season.

Here is how the rest of the AFC East fared:
No. 5: New England Patriots (3-2)
No. 19: Dolphins (2-3)
No. 25: New York Jets (2-3)
No. 27: Buffalo Bills (2-3)

Looking at the schedule, there's no reason we shouldn't be 6-4 heading into the Seattle game where our big home stand begins.

There won't be many teams competing for that last Wild Card spot. Assuming Pittsburgh gets the first, you have Miami, Cincy and the loser of SD and Denver duking it out. We beat Cincy and they have a tough division so we already have a leg up on them.

Miami can make a run at this thing. We NEED to beat the teams we should beat here in the next month though.

If I had to guess, I'd say the 2 OT losses will end up costing them and it comes down to needing to beat NE on the last week of the season, and they don't get that done.

The problem is that it is still a bit early to depict which ARE the teams Miami should beat. Games against teams like the Colts, Seahawks, Rams, Jags & Titans are still currently debatable as all seem to be closely matched to us in building modes and trying to get programs consistently back on track. Beating New England will a huge challenge in BOTH those games. Beating the 49er's at San Fran seems to be a bit out of the question. Division games against the Jets and two to the Bills always duke out tough.

This is why I don't bet on football or specifically the Miami Dolphins! Until Miami blows someone out, holds late game leads or shows they can come back from deficits, the jury will remain out this season.

When you shut down the run, then run it down their throat, it pretty much forces them to take notice. Respect will come when we stop shooting ourselves in the foot and start winning games.
