The Dolphins likely avoided a major scare on Sunday, as quarterback Ryan Tannehill said after the 30-9 win over the Jets that he suffered a hyperextended left knee and deep thigh bruise early in the first quarter, but he’s “optimistic” he will be able to play next Sunday at Indianapolis. Tannehill had an X-ray after the game, and will have an MRI on Monday morning to confirm the injuries.
“I was optimistic about getting back in the game, and I’m optimistic about getting ready to go next week,” Tannehill said. “I could’ve gone if it was an emergency situation. Was trying to get it loose so I could be good to go, (but) we were up big and Matt (Moore) was doing a good job.”
