How important was Philbin to the Packers?
Packers just lost another one today......their offense is no where close to where it's been the past couple of years. I'm feeling better every week about Philbin.........could you imagine being solid at QB & Coach for the next 10+ years?

If it wasn't for a Javorskie Lane fumble and a Dan Carpenter missed fieldgoal we might have ran away with that game. The only gripe I had was when he underthrew Hartline on that deep ball. Had he hit Hartline in stride it would have been a huge play, possibly a touchdown. But overall I thought he managed the game very well today and picked up a nice win on the road against a pretty good Bengals team.

Is that the play where he scrambled and threw in on the run? If so, we are lucky he made that throw, that was big league.

Anyway, had he thrown it a foot further Hartline would have been gone. That little bit Hartline had to turn back to catch it cost him a little speed and the safety was able to come over and force him out. Great roll out by Tannehill, but I'm sure when he watches the film he'll see just how close he was to completing a big time strike.

Very true, but then again that throw will hardly ever be perfect considering not only the roll-out but the route adjustment. Tanny had to adjust his brain and decision making AND his mechanics on that play considering he had to move out of the pocket and recognize the new route. The throw he made was big time; a throw in stride might be a bit too much to ask for.

Re: How important was Philbin to the Packers?
Looks like Philbin was VERY important in GB. The packers dont look like the same team.
I think Philbin will change the image of the Dolphins. You will see FAs WANT to play for the Dolphins.
I think Philbin will have a lot to say on what kind of players we draft so even if Ireland stays, we should start to see the team improve as Philbin gets his kind of team together.
GO DOLPHINS!

FAs will play for any team that pays them the most money.

I wanted to see Tannehill and Hartline have another monster day. But I'm perfectly happy with the way things turned out.

Re: How important was Philbin to the Packers?
Money talks, but guys want to win too. Also, I think some are turned of by Ireland's personality. When several teams are all throwing a lot of money at you, these things matter. Philbin is establishing that this is going to be a quality team and he is a stand up guy. This will attract FA players who might have not seriously considered the Dolphins before. Can't throw your entire cap space to a FA and then still not sign him!

I remember Wayne saying he still wanted to sign with Miami even after Marshall got traded and Manning picked Denver. We just didnt court him.

“I can see it, and I’m definitely not opposed to it,” Wayne said about teaming up with Manning in Miami.
If Manning came. I wonder why MIA didn't call Wayne anyway.

Re: How important was Philbin to the Packers?
My opinion, he was just doing the song n dance, I dont think he was leaving Indy to go anywhere, even if Peyton was there. He knew Luck was coming, he knew they needed him there. He just made sure they didnt take advantage of him.
