WR private workouts
Quote:
Receiver talk: The Dolphins scheduled a private workout for Thursday with Syracuse's Mike Williams, a potential mid-round pick who caught 49 passes for 746 yards in seven games in 2009 before quitting the team in anticipation of another suspension. (He missed the 2008 season on academic suspension.)
The Dolphins had a private session with LSU's Brandon LaFell, a potential second-rounder, after his Pro Day, and met this week with Louisville's Scott Long, a potential late-round pick who impressed at the NFL Combine.

Re: WR private workouts
I saw that yesterday Hen. Mike Williams is considered to be the 2nd most talented WR in this draft, but he was booted off the team in 2008 and then was reninstated to the team and quit after 7 games in 2009.
Dphins4me had a post up about Mike a month or so ago I believe. I would not touch Mike until rounds 5-7.
He did not help himself at the combine in interviews either.

A bit more here:

Just when you thought the Dolphins' public take on receivers couldn't be any more mystifying ("happy with the group of players we have right now, been very productive"), along comes word that they're working out draft prospect Mike Williams tomorrow.
Williams, you won't recall because he played for Syracuse (motto: "No one cares"), is easily a late-first round pick based on paper talent in the way that Brandon Marshall or Terrell Owens are a good trade. Orange blog Troy Nunes is an Absolute Magician sums it up:
I like this kid. Just gotta wonder what really went down with him in college...

I like the guys thats they are scheduling workouts with. I was wondering if u guys think they would look into Jacoby Ford?? I know he is not that tall, but the kid is fast, tough, and can really help in the return game. He is built more like percy harvin than ginn, which is a good thing cuz percy turned out pretty good, and doesn't avoid contact like good ol teddy
