Ireland: "Only difference between Tannehill and Luck is EXP"
http://bleacherreport.com/tb/bgpyF?utm_ ... i-dolphinsQuote: “If we had eight to ten more games of film to watch Ryan Tannehill play that position, I think we’re looking at him in the same breath as Griffin and maybe Luck. I think he’s got that kind of ability and arm talent,” Ireland said on the Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM in Miami.

Honestly I'd agree with that. The only difference, and this would likely come with more experience, is that Luck's mechanics are a ways ahead of Ryan's. And comparing him to RG3 is apples to oranges I feel.

Not too sure about that. I think Luck is going to be the next Peyton Manning. We will have to see.

You can't compare the two. Tannehill has the athleticism of Rodgers, while Luck is more of a Cam Newton with his size. Luck is as polished as a quarterback as they come...I don't think anyone can get there.

Wow, that is some high praise from Ireland. He's really high on this kid. I liked him before we drafted him, but I had no idea that our staff felt this strong about his ability. I felt he was as good as RG3 and thought he could be a better pro than RG3 in the right situation, but as good as Luck? Luck is an amazing prospect. I guess they both played in a West Coast offense in college, both are big kids, both have talented arms, both are athletic and can roll out. I can see the similarities, but Luck does everything just a little bit better. Maybe Ireland is right, maybe if Tannehill had the same amount of time as A&M's starter he could be on the same level?

I don't agree with him being at Luck's level...But I agree that he comes out next year, and he's RG3.
I honestly don't see too much of a difference between the two right now. RG3 has a better deep ball and athletic ability, but Tannehill has experience in a pro style offense.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Ross predict that Henne would lead the Dolphins to a Super Bowl title ?

of the 4 quarterbacks taken yesterday only Luck and Tannehill played in pro systems and Tannehill doesnt have to learn a new pro system like Luck will have to do.
Advantage Dolphins!

I already have Tanehill penciled in to break every major passing record by the time his career is done.

This kid doesn't need to be the second coming of Marino, he just needs to play within his ability and become the franchise quarterback our staff thinks he can be. Tannehill is a talented kid, if he can put it all together and become a consistent pro then the Dolphins will have found themselves one heck of a quarterback.

Re: Ireland: "Only difference between Tannehill and Luck is EXP"
Good pick in my mind. What we really needed prior to the draft is some legit experience to help these guys out. Garrard is out to compete for the starting role and won't be a mentor for either Tanny or Moore. But he's a good solid pick (better than Henne was imho out of college).
