Post Draft Winds: Is Brock Osweiler a Dolphins QB option?

But I would be hugely wary of the Dolphins investing any sort of pre 4th round pick in him and quite frankly I’m not sure he’ll ever be a legitimate starting QB. He has a number of maddening traits that he’s yet to overcome despite them being issues on his high school tape all the way through to his very final performance against Boise State. Quite frankly, I would be shocked if the Dolphins believe they can turn Osweiler into a Joe Philbin QB when he lacks the traits that are so necessary in a Joe Philbin passer.

Props to the author for using the word risible, too bad they did not do an article on Russell Wilson.

Unfortunately for Russell, he is not over 6'0 tall. For a kid that is a very good QB, that is a major deterrent for NFL teams.

Yep, I agree but as has been pointed out he did play behind a line in Wisconsin that is as tall/big as NFL teams. Help me out here guys is that less of a problem (short QB) when you are running the West Coast offense?

Brees is an anomoly as far as short QB's go. But even Brees has a full two inches on Wilson.

As far as Brock, you'd better hope I'm on the first floor if we draft him.

Absolutely not! Ryan Tannehill is the only option for Miami in this draft.

If it's not Tannehill, it won't be anybody before round 4, I think.

They've shown almost no interest in Weeden. I understand they've done the same with Mike Pouncey, for example...but Pouncey is an interior OL. Weeden is a QB you'd have to move up to get, or that you'd be moving down for. You have to make sure you love him. Miami hasn't done that, so I don't see him on their board, honestly.

If Tannehill is gone, get the hell out of 8, (unless Claiborne is available), and take a pass rusher later in round 1.

Yep...and I've said before that Brees is THEE anomaly. Spread system, non-first rounder, 6'0 tall, torn labrum, Madden cover, Saints player. And not a single one of those things will keep him out of the hall of fame.

Now you have people hoping Miami takes the kid just with the hopes that you are on a floor higher than the 1st............ :ann0y:
