Please Mr. Ross.
Fire Jeff Ireland.

He is a good scout, can gather talent.
But this is about perception, reputation and character.
This is about how our franchise is viewed off and on the field.
Players don't want to come here.

He needs to go.
Now.

If it was just Porter....I'd laugh along with you. You can dismiss this all you want. I brought this up last year and people about laughed me off the forum. Ireland is a cancer. You don't win with Cancer. Time for some surgery. I think by not landing any prominent FA QB, he's got one shot at redemption. Tannehill. If he whiffs on that...ie doesn't read the Cleveland tea leaves right, he's got to be gone.

That whole Porter / Sapp exchange was so rehearsed.
What a waste of video , you want to know the state of the Dolphins ... right now it's not good , we know that , the media knows that & anyone with any football knowledge knows that. Dont waste our time with a guy with an agenda to tell us.

If it's about perception, reputation and character, then firing Ireland will do nothing, other than leave us with yet another void.

You have to get rid of Ross in order to make people believe the character of the organization has changed. Firing Ireland by himself will do nothing.

I would've fired him after the hooker comment came to light. The bottom line is the deck is slowly stacking against Ireland. His FA signings have been a mixed bag. Ditto with his draft choices. His negociation style has people leaving Miami faster than Usain Bolt...to quote someone else.

You would have fired him after 1 comment?
That was true????

Glad you aren't in charge.

So I guess this is what we can get used to.
When you post, it's always about Ireland.

How ironic that a guy like Joey Porter is going on the record.
He has no room to talk about reputation or character.

Joey Porter may speak some of the truth, but he's doing most of that talking through a different hole.
:fart:

Let's see ... Yeremiah Bell is an aging veteran on the downswing of his career, and the Dolphins cut him due to his salary this year. I think anyone without their minds made up understand that Porter and Sapp are coming from an old player who doesn't have it any longer attitude. You have to push the old guys out at some point even when they are in denial. As far as Bell, I think he is still a very good player, but don't players usually know they have to renegotiate thing when they get into the last year of their contract? Bell thinks he is still one of the best at his position and felt he was being low-balled by Ireland.

As far as unpopularity, Joe Thomas took over the Baltimore Colts in the early 70s and traded away all the old greats on the team ... people he did not have any ties with. Fans hated him until he turned them into winners with Bert Jones and Lydell Mitchell.

It looks as if Dphins4me is correct in some respects ... the Dolphins are rebuilding. I do think they want to win as they replace players that aren't the future of this team. Normally you have the player all ready on the team via the draft to take over, so, we are doing things a little backwards here;) Looks like the rookies we draft will have to be starting.

We aren't overpaying for FA's so Irelend has to get fired. Funny, Reid signed a bunch of FA's last year and they wanted him fired too.

Slow and steady wins the race....as long as its not too slow. We've been rebuilding since Miami Fired Bumstedt. I'll contrast your Colts story with a Brazen expensive move Miami made in 1970 by acquiring Don Shula. That is the kind of leadership Miami needs.

I think it's Porter's nature to speak badly with regards to any team or anyone that releases or does not sign him.
