If Manning goes to Tennessee we need to pick up the phone and give a 1st for Jake Locker, screw chasing Matt Flynn! Locker is already on a rookie contract and IMO is better than Flynn and is Locker going to want and sit behind Manning for at least 3 years?

better idea? If Flynn signs in Seattle you want Moore for next year? I would take Tanehill but I think he will be gone

Yeah, let's steal Tom Brady from New England, and sign Aaron Rodgers to back him up after he retires. Bringing in Calvin Johnson wouldn't hurt either.

Why give up a 1st for a guy that was drafted too early?

Locker never caught on in college, and hasn't show much promise in the NFL. I think he was overhyped because of his athleticism. Too me he is a poor man's Tim Tebow.

Ouch! Not much on board the Locker train here! I live out here in WA and follow the Huskies pretty well, and I feel Jake had lost a step in his Senior year and definatley was shocked to see him go so high in the draft last year! I don't think he's as bad as some of you guys are saying... "poor man's Tebow" -pretty tough there! Comparing Locker and Tebow is just plain ridiculous! (IMHO) Tebow is one of the worst QB's I've ever seen win games at the NFL level. His dumb luck will run out and he'll be a backup most of his career.
I don't think the idea presented here is even a valid option at all, but I do like Locker as a QB and believe he has a better chance at being a starting QB than Tebow...
Just say'n.

I'd offer a 5th that could turn into a 3rd if certain criteria is met.

LOL. They just drafted him with the 8th overall pick in the draft. I think that if the Titans do not get Manning, he will develop into a good quarterback. His stock dropped during his senior year, but I like him.

No thanks, we don't need a rookie who will be 29 in October.

Why would they trade their future starter?

Got to believe Locker stays in TN, to develop under Peyton.

Hassleback will be the casuality. We'll know we are in bad shape, if we go after him.

He played well when he played last year.

I've thought about this scenario and the answer after mulling it over is overwhelminly no. Locker struggles with accuracy big time. He has ever since college. The top attribute of a quarterback should be their accuracy. Innacurate quarterbacks in a complex offense like we're looking to run can spell disaster. We're better off going with Flynn or Tannehill.

I'd take Locker in a heartbeat, but not for pick 1.08. If Tenn would be interested then I'd trade down to 1.20/3rd Rd pick for 1.08 & Locker or something like that.

Who cares? If he can step in and play at a high level for 10 years, then he's worth it. And it's not as though you'd be investing high dollars or high draft picks to make the move.

He's 29, doesn't have a bunch of wear and tear and knows how to be a professional. Has a great arm, can make all the throws, etc.

Agreed. Talent is talent.

I disagree...I haven't seen him make all the throws. He threw a lot of screens, bubbles, slants and hitches to his talented receiving corps in a spread offense. Does that mean he can't make all the throws? No, but I'm not convinced.
