Re: Miami Dolphins: Nate Jones saw this coming
That's not good. Jones brought a lot of versatility, being able to play ST, being a good blitzer, and being a good nickel and dime CB. He also is apparently a smart, hard working player and a leader in that locker room.
That's going to be a tough blow.

Fortunately, we are strong at cornerback. We have to address needs in other areas. Wish the best for Nate. Great to see someone drafted in the 7th round have a successful NFL career.

Its simple. Nate Jones wants to start. He wasn't starting for the Fins even tho he seemed better fit to get the job done sometimes...
The hit will come in depth and on special teams. Nate was a strong special teams guy, and alot on the time the first to the ball...

Somebody refresh my memory on why I should lose sleep on this. This may sound harsh, but he seemed "average" to me and replaceable in free agency.
Also, I'd rather go with Jason Allen.

Dave, I really have to agree with your feelings on this one. No disrespect at all to Nate Jones as I agree he provided some add value to Miami, but realistically, the braintrust is looking to improve this roster as much as they can and obviously if they are not planning to bring Nate back at this point there is a good reason why as they arent in the business of letting "key" players go and I'm sorry, but Jones doesn't fit into that category.

Not true, I can't find the link to the interview right now, but when Salguero asked him about being a starter he said something to the effect of thats not what he's looking for, he's a football player wherever he fits in.
