 dolphins acquire 2nd overall pick?
i saw a rumor on prosports.com that said that the rams are planning on taking sam bradford qb from ou with the first overall pick... this was posted by espn analyst adam scheffter, a very reliable source who i trust a lot... since the lions have the second overall pick, and we're still unsure of who the dolphins are trying to trade for with the lions (its said its for calvin, but i dont believe it), does this mean the fins are trying to get the 2nd pick so they can fill a HUGE missing piece of their team with ndamakong suh? that would be a great start to their offseason

I should sue you for false advertisement.... I dont know if I would sign off on what it would cost for that pick... Unless it was Porter + Ginn = 2nd overall

Is someone like Suh/McCoy even a top priority for a 3-4 def?

Fair enough, but he will only be there if the lambs don't pick him. I don't see why trading a 12# and who knows what away, is a good idea :/ Still somewhat of a rookie in football knowledge but what position would Suh command in miami?

I'd love to see Suh in Miami, but the costs to move up to get him would be to great. We can get a quality player at 12 who would fit our needs at the present time instead of going after a guy like Suh who would be just a want instead of a need. As far as what position he would play. He would not be a NT, but could probably fit the end position nicely

Re: dolphins acquire 2nd overall pick?
That is interesting, but I cannot believe that we would give up the farm to move to the overall #2 spot. If we were "close" and Suh was the missing piece, but when has Parcells ever drafted a DT high in the draft?

Re: dolphins acquire 2nd overall pick?
I think it would be a waste of Suh's talents to be trapped in the 34.
And it is silly speculation to think Bradford will go 1, and that we're trying to trade for Johnson.
Adam Schefter reported no such thing.

Adam Schefter reported no such thing. The Chef DID report such a thing. Quote: ESPN's Adam Schefter told a St. Louis radio station he is "willing to take all bets" on his prediction that the Rams will select Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. Schefter admits that he has not spoken to the Rams about the issue, but he insists he doesn't need to because he's "heard enough other things" from people around the league that he considers it a lock. Schefter also "promises" that Bradford is a top-5 player in this draft. The Rams are also reluctant to pay the going rate at No. 1 for a defensive player. If Schefter is correct, the Lions are sitting pretty at No. 2 with their choice of Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=168193&id=5161

He thinks they will take Bradford.
He admitted he has not talked to anyone in St. Louis.

He admitted he has not talked to anyone in St. Louis. Yes, that doesn't mean he didn't report it. The topic originally stated that it was a "rumor": dolfan24 wrote: i saw a rumor on prosports.com that said that the rams are planning on taking sam bradford qb from ou with the first overall pick... this was posted by espn analyst adam scheffter This is a guy who normally hits the nail on the head.

Re: dolphins acquire 2nd overall pick?
I respect Schefter more than any other reporter out there. He's the man.
But the original poster said that Schefter reported the Rams will take Bradford, when I said he did no such thing.

Man....I am sure the price for that trade would be steep....something like our 1st, 2nd and two players....how about Ginn and Porter

Re: dolphins acquire 2nd overall pick?
He was just stating his opinion, is my point. He used the words, "I think", 2 or 3 times.
I agree with you though, passing on Suh would be stupid. People talk about how they've spent 2 of their last 3 1st round picks on D-lineman....so...?? Neither have exactly panned out, sure, but you can't let that scare you. You have a chance on taking the next Warren Sapp and you're going to pass that up...??
Marc Bulger is a good QB. Give him SOMETHING to work with, and he can win you games. It's not time to take a QB yet if you're St. Louis.
Even though I do like Bradford, it would be a mistake to take him over either of the Big 2.
