hmmm....i just had someone text me that they were excited that the Phins "TRIED" to get rid of Porter, but due to salary cap issues, they can't cut him......at least not yet.

Whether he was released or not (yet) its funny that the very thing That Porter brought to the table (his attitude which was welcomed when he was signed as most people stated it was just what this team needed) is the main reason why we are happy to see him go.

I certainly welcomed Porters tenacity on the field and his attacking style of play. Who knows what really goes on behind closed doors and away from the fans. Obviously, something isnt working anymore between the two parties.

I wish him well and hope he stays out of the AFC East. He still has another a year or two left in the tank, at least IMO.

Porter was already on board when the Parcells regime took over. Joey definitely had his good moments in Miami.

But in the end he ended up showing his butt to much, and most felt that is what eventually got him released from the Steelers also.

What is the rush to cut him? Who's his replacement? Egos playing on egos.

Cameron Wake will replace him. Or JT will be resigned and Wake will play strong side. IMO, once Cameron figures the other aspects of the game out. He will be far superior then Joey would be at rushing the passer. Wake in his limited time ranked up there in the top of the league at rushing the passer among guys like Dwight Freeney. Wake has a bright future.

You're probably correct on the sack number, but he said that Wake would be far superior to rushing the passer, not getting sacks. Rushing, and sacking are two different things.
