Post The Sapp Interception
In all the talk of another lost season we seem to have forgotten this bonehead play. How many yards could he have run back that interception had Vontae Davis not called for the ball & then they fumbled the lateral. What were they both thinking? Vontae had a terrible game & this play probably cost some valuable field position or some are even saying maybe even 6 points.

They saw the end zone & panicked. Why VD ask for the ball instead of running in front of Sapp & blocking for him is the million dollar question. That pick was yet another 7 points left on the field. All that was in front of them was Fitzgerald.

According to Omar Kelly, they practice lateraling all the time so that they can do it when it counts. The Ravens do the same thing.

If this lateral works, it's beautiful like the one Ed Reed pulled off a few weeks ago. When it doesn't it's ugly.

I think they simply crapped the bed because they were so excited that they actually caught an INT.
