Very sad....a ligament tear in his final bowl game, followed by a ligament tear in training camp with the Dolphins. This guy is very talented, but I must assume he didn't heal well.

Sad story. If I'm not mistaken, this is the kid that lived in the locker-room because he did not have a home to go to, until the coach found out and brought him into his home. After a great career at Tulsa, he tore his ACL in the Bowl game of his Sr. year, because of that he goes undrafted, and then tore his ACL early in last year's camp.

I wish him the best. He had great potential.

Marion had amazing yards per catch numbers at Tulsa....far outpacing any other receivers on the team.....and the team was an aerial circus. He was also a nifty return man. I was jazzed when we picked him up as a free agent. I watched his final bowl game. He was the "go to" guy when they needed a first down or big play. Tulsa was attempting a comeback at the end of the game and Marion was featured on that last drive. He made a sharp cut to get open on a 3rd or 4th and long to keep the drive alive and tore the ligament.....sadly, he had gotten open on the cut and the injury cost them the game as well. Great talent...more bad luck for the Dolphins.

Another interesting note after seeing that video above....what happened to Tulsa's QB David Johnson? I knew he wouldn't be drafted, but expected him to end up being signed in free agency and then eventually catch on in the NFL. He has a great arm and is very accurate. In his senior year, he only ranked behind Sam Bradford in QB efficiency. Hard to believe no one sees a chance to make him an NFL QB.....he is 6'3" and around 220 lbs...good enough size for the NFL....

It's too bad they cut him because regardless of how awful you are, speed is always a great commodity to have.

He only played the one year in a spread offense in a crappy division. Stats and size are never enough to evaluate a player. He has a ridiculously slow delivery and a push delivery at that.
He's just another Graham Harrell, Kliff Kingsbury, or Colt Brennan. Although, Colt Brennan has a much sweeter delivery.
