:yay: :yay:

Had some great years in Philly. Let's see what he can do.

WR Kevin Curtis has signed with the Dolphins, having battled back from cancer. Great story. Wish him the best. Several teams were interested

Always wondered what happened with this guy. I think he had a sports hernia or something, then Avant and Maclin got going in Philly ..... then boom he was gone.

This is a good signing if Curtis can still play at his former level.

Agreed..I didn't even know he was available. He had a stretch with the dropsies for Philly, but other than that he's been a serviceable player.

More than anything else it allows us a peek in to how Sparano/Ireland sees our WR depth (I.e., Moore and Wallace). After a couple of games, they're not confident that those guys can hold down the fort.

Frankly, I'm not either.

He's 32 and hasn't played a game since week 15 of 2009 and that was his first one since week 2 of that year. Week 1 of 2009 was his last start. Lost a testicle to cancer I believe. Hope he has the spirit of Lance Armstrong in him. Otherwise, I only hope he doesn't get killed.

Me neither. There were several drops in traffic from Moore and Wallace. That will not do with the small window for success that our offense allows.

Interesting move to say the least. I hope Curtis makes a good comeback for us and contributes in our offense. If he plays anything the way he did in the previous years, he could help a bit.

Don't know much about this guy. What's his style? Is he a speed guy, a possession guy, what?
Right now we need speed at the receiver position. We've got plenty of very talented possession guys but nobody to really stretch the field vertically. We could really use a speedster on the outside to take pressure off of Marshall and allow Henne to take deep shots down the field.

He definitely had some speed when he played. In fact I'd argue that's his big time asset. Was a tremendous wideout for the Rams before he went on to Philly where he had health/injury issues.

He was a star for the Rams a couple of years ago. Nice addition.

He is cut from the same mold as Hartline. Fast white boy with better ball skillz imo.

Kevin Curtis, if all the way healthy is faster than Hartline, so he could essentially give us a couple of years of speed. He is 32, but seems to be awfully motivated being out of football and coming back from cancer.

Pre-draft measurables
Curtis ran a hand-timed 40 yard dash of 4.21 but a 4.35 at the NFL Combine; at the Combine, he scored a 48 out of a possible 50 points on the Wonderlic intelligence test. This is tied for the third highest verified score among active players (Ryan Fitzpatrick and Benjamin Watson also scored 48). The only two players that scored higher on the Wonderlic Test were Pat McInally with a perfect 50 and Mike Mamula with a 49.

Moore and Wallace have not looked good in traffic.

Quote:
The Dolphins signed 8-year veteran receiver Kevin Curtis this week to replace Brian Hartline (finger injury), and he likely will be active Sunday. Rookie receivers Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace have played well at times, but are still learning the game and have been inconsistent with their hands and route-running.

Quote:
It shows just how little faith the team has in rookie wideouts Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace. Curtis will try to show both the Dolphins and the league that he's healthy and deserves a contract for 2011.
