Post Henne / Sanchez , Jets / Dolphins debate
There is still 2 minutes left in this pathetic game & I dont know who will win but I can care less. These are 2 bad teams & 3 worse QB's. Each team tries to make a splash in free agency to catch NE & it is not even close. NE just takes care of business , builds thru the draft & does not overspend & has no QB issues. They must laugh at these 2 teams. I bought in this season but I was teased. Year after year nothing much ever changes ... mediocrity for ever.

WTF ???? we had the worst defense in dolphin history last year and totally rebuilt with a very young group that should be good for a long time !!!!.....the Pats got lucky with Brady....seriously you think they waited till the 6th round if they knew how he would turn out ?.....our O line and qb issues need to be settled,,,, but we have made huge strides in a short time...

Well...it was a win, but Henne's 55 passing yards weren't too inspiring. Thank God the weather was bad....Jets receivers dropped several big passes and so did Sean Smith.

The Miami defense does seem to be coming along nicely though. The secondary had a good game, plenty of pressure on Sanchez, and the Jets running attack was bottled up. Time to start drafting some offensive talent.

What is there to debate? Yes the Phins have fallen on hard times while the Pats have been a very successful franchise these past 10 years. Was there somewhere you were going with all that?
We know that you have great admiration for the Pats, that's been known for years. Should we quit cheering for the Phins because they suck?

Henne coughed up the ball twice today though....fumbles instead of interceptions....but I am hoping that was mostly the wet ball and all. Ronnie also fumbled after taking a good shot.

As if the Henne topic hasn't already brought out the worst in people, you thought your initial post was going to somehow inspire a reasonable debate? It pretty much continued the Henne sucks chant that so many are taking part of.

Its pretty simple, many think Henne stinks and want to kick him to the curb. A few still have faith that he can blossom.

As for NE, they took a veteran team and won a SB. They drafted pieces to eventually replace those veterans and continue a winning tradition. Their QB was developed by one of the best OC's the NFL has seen this decade and has a system in place that maximizes his abilities with good football players. Doesn't hurt that he has perhaps the best HC of the decade helping him understand what it takes to win. By the way, that same OC is turning Matt Cassell around in KC, having him go from awful to Pro Bowl caliber.

what Henne did was not lose the game for us...please look at the O as a whole.... the right side was pretty porous today, saw on RB's miss blitz pick ups and our TE getting routinely beaten on their blocks...Henne made some poor throws and the WR had a few drops...so while our O production today was poor, it can hardly be put all on Henne's shoulders....give it a rest already !!!

Henne's two fumbles were not positives....the defense simply kept those turnovers from turning into touchdowns.

See thats what I wanted ... just dont tell guys to switch their fan affiliation. of course you should not stop cheering for the phins but isnt it always the same old thing .... Defense carries the team while the offense is pathetic. Why cant a regime get this figured out. Year after year we love the moves to the staff , love the signings , love the draft , so much upside & potential but not much changes. This was the year the Fins & Jets were gonna overtake the Patriots. Instead the Dolphins are who they always are & the Jets are the 2008 Dolphins.

He came darn close to losing it for us. That first fumble where he extended the ball out poorly with one hand in wet conditions had be tearing my hair out.

I believe he took quite a shot on one & while still his fault the one fumble where the ball slipped out of his hands was due the the conditions, but would have been much better had he fell on it.

Yea, because Qbs often use both hands on a hand off.

look at the bright side Henne had the better return (on the scoreboard at least) in what was a shocker of a passing game

HENNE 1 of 5 completions was a TD
SANCHEEZE 0 of 17 completions was a TD (thanks Santonio :) )

hey i know i'm clutching at straws, but any WIN against the JETS is satisfying
thanks Defense you guys played lights out (and were unlucky to not get another 2-3 picks)

I agree Winston and thanks mainly due to our defense and Brandon Fields, Miami came out in the win column and it is VERY satisfying beating the Jets. I have a bunch of Jet fans on my Facebook and it is awesome to read all their stab their own team in the back comments!! I love it.

He took a shot because the guy is wearing blinders. Tunnelled laser vision. Furthermore no one even touched him and he dropped the 2nd one. Oh yes...and let's blame weather. Good thing Miami wasn't in Chicago. Or maybe they should have been...they could have seen how a real football team handles weather.

There is no need for this comment to try and start crap on the boards. Please refrain. Stay on topic PLEASE.

Right now Sanchez is easily the better of the two. Even though he too had a lousy game it was mostly due to perfectly placed dropped passes. Furthermore if Henne were under the duress that Sanchez faced, he would've coughed up a lot more turnovers. Sanchez has poise, pocket presence and he's not afraid to try and make a play under duress. Henne has none of these attributes and will be out of the league in a couple of seasons.

Right now Sanchez is easily the better of the two.

I'm not so sure anymore. There are a lot of QBs struggling. Even Ben didn't throw a TD today. The only sure QBs are Brady, Manning, and most of the time Brees.

Why? Because Henne doesn't have any pocket awareness? How many good QB's would have simply got rid of the ball or juked him as fast as he was coming in. Ybell rocketed in on Sanchez and he simply sidestepped him and delivered a ball that if not for Smith heroics would've been 6. Henne just doesn't have what it takes to play at this level. He's got the tools but he's in a long list of guys who don't have the intangibles. He's a Ryan Leaf type of guy. Slow, flat-footed, slow in the decision process and not mentally tough.

Its fine DolphinsJim, I shouldnt have used the Henne sarcasm and directed that at you. I know your just a huge fan of his and really I just wish he would find a way to become our long term solution at QB and he still very well could be, even after some of these tough outings.
