Post Rex Ryan: "Dolphins offense loaded"
Quote:
I had to go pick myself off the floor before I could get around to posting this so please forgive the delay. New York Jets coach Rex Ryan was just on a conference call with the South Florida media and he was routinely interesting. The guy simply has a compelling way of grabbing and keeping one's attention.

But ...

Sometimes Ryan shoots past the the line separating saying things that are interesting and saying things that are just crazy. He was clearly in crazy territory today when he called the Dolphins offense "outstanding" and "loaded."

"The Miami offense is far from being poor," Ryan said. "That's an outstanding offense. You have two great running backs, a young quarterback that always plays great against us, for some reason. I was hoping they'd bench him for our game. To be honest with you, you have the big wide out, Brandon Marshall.

"This is a team that's loaded."

Huh?

our offense does look very good on paper, but that doesnt mean crap when you have a horrible offensive coordinator calling the plays for them to execute.

Who knows what will happen in this game but there is the potential for us to beat them despite how inept this offense has been this season. The biggest issue is at OC, after that it is the consistency of Henne, followed by the wide receivers dropping passes. If we can get all those guys on one page for one game, I know we can beat the Jests. That being said, I'm not one for holding my breath.

The biggest issue is the ground game. It was supposed to be the driving force of the offense. How many times has Miami been inside the 10 and not had Brown or Williams be able to bust through?

Team is not built to rely on the passing game nor is Henne capable of taking over by himself at this point.

There's talent there. They need to put it together on game day.

Dont worry, we have Henning to completely screw up any chances of our loaded weapons from firing off on any kind of big play...

And if we do decide to challenge your questionable safety's Henne has a 25% or less chance of hitting an open WR, a 45% chance of hitting your DB and a 35% chance of hitting 5 yards away from anybody.

That being said I would be more worried about your offense getting rolling against a defense that seems to get better each week regardless of injuries...

Still a winable game if you ask me. For the offense .... I still beleive the players have to play & execute. Dont get me wrong , Henning has not been good , BUT I do not think its all on him. Our guys have underacheived & while I agree talent is there , on some it was over hyped & not evaluated correctly. It is great to think a new OC will solve the offense problems but to think personel changes are not needed is wrong.

Maybe he was being sarcastic and "tongue-in-cheek"?

Doesn't Miami get outscored in the 2nd half more than any other team in the NFL? That problem alone takes away the title of being loaded. 3 and outs and a punt.....stifled only by the occasional blocked punt or blocked field goal............ Yeah, we're freaking loaded.

Reverse psychology. He wants Henne to play. DL can bat balls, he's good for a pick a game, and he'll hold the ball too long and get sacked a few times. LOL! Hopefully Henne can burnn the Jets and knock them from their high horse that they think they are on.
