The AccuScore forecast is razor-thin for Thursday night's game between the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins in Sun Life Stadium.

In AccuScore's 10,000 simulations, the Dolphins won 52 percent of the time by an average of 0.8 points.

When you think of the matchup, quarterbacks are prominent in the discussion. Jay Cutler can be a disaster on any given night, while the Dolphins are starting their third-stringer, Tyler Thigpen.

But AccuScore focuses on the run game. The Dolphins have the slight edge because Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams averaged 4 yards per carry in the simulations, while Bears running backs averaged 3 yards.

If the Bears can hold Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown to under 100 yards combined, then their chances to win climb to 66 percent. If Williams and Brown top that mark, then the Dolphins' chances soar to 82 percent.

So it's the same old recipe for success. Run the football, control the clock, win the game. Wow this is inciteful stuff!
:hithead:
I don't care if we rush for 200 yards, we have to get after Cutler. If Jay Cutler gets into a rythm we will regret it and likely loose this football game. They dominated the Vikings the other week and looked solid. Thigpen must be solid and not make too many costly mistakes. If he can secure the football and we can put up 20+ points, then I think we win this game. The Bears are not a juggernaut and our defense looked pretty good against Tennessee. I think we win 20-17.

our D should be able to get to Cutler, the Bears O line is nothing to get excited about, and if you want to throw a freak stat in there, Cutler has shown to be awful during night games (read it somewhere on ESPN earlier).

Maybe he is afraid of the dark?

This will be a defensive battle, but not a boring one. Both OLines are battered and/or just suck. Cutler will eat dirt, Thigpen will be running for his life. Lots of turnovers, not a lot of capitalizing. Bears D isn't messin around this year. Neither is Miami's D. Wake against that line is like a hot "rabid" knife through butter. We might see a lot of R&R, but they won't do much.

PFT predictions ... both Dolphins victories.

Bears at Dolphins

Florio’s take: A quarter of a century after the Bears took an unbeaten record to Miami and emerged with their only loss of the year, the Bears are back in town. Though Miami has plenty of injury issues right now, the battle-tested Dolphins have enough horses to take down a Chicago team that simply isn’t as good as its 6-3 record suggests.

Florio’s pick: Dolphins 24, Bears 16.

Rosenthal’s take: Everything sets up well here for the Bears. Their defense looks like a balanced, top-five unit. They are coming off their best game of the year. On paper, they should shut down new Miami starting QB Tyler Thigpen -– especially with tackle Jake Long not at 100%. Despite all that, I still think the Dolphins are a tougher, smarter squad overall.

Rosenthal’s pick: Dolphins 20, Bears 17.

If the contest were in water, no doubt Dolphins would dominate. If it ocurrs on land, bears would maul dolphins.

RB showdown? Our running game is non-existent and our defense can't stop the Bears' running game. Fortunately, Cutler kept the game close for awhile. The 2010 Dolphins are pathetic.

The defense held on for awhile, but now they are crumbling too.
