We only got to see one season out of him. It's too bad he could not ressurect his career in Miami. He was one of the smartest and most accurate quarterbacks of all time. He will be missed. Just a shame his career will be overshadowed by his injuries, but at the same time his injuries probably kept the Jets from winning a Super Bowl so I'm not too upset about it.
:jests:

Maybe a job for him as a quarterbacks coach in the future if Lee ever becomes more or goes elsewhere???

I'd be shocked if he didnt land a coaching role on this team....

I think we have to see how everything pans out in the coaching department anyway.. I have a feeling we will see some changes this off season..

Sparano/Ireland can probably buy some time by getting rid of Henning..

Sad to see Pennington go out like that... But he really should have thought about it. 3 surgery's to the same shoulder...

That's it for his career.

Shame.

Thanks for everything Chad. One of my all time favorites. Class act.

I will always be thankful for Chad and the 2008 season. Coming off a dreadful 1-15 season, he came in 2nd in the MVP voting and in my opinion, should have won it. He lead the Dolphins to an 11-5 season and an AFC East Championship.

I hope he indeed does have a future with the Dolphins as a coach. No guy was smarter or prepared better and he is the ultimate teammate & leader.

Penny played 9 years for the Jets, and I love the guy...

Jason Taylor played ten years for the Fins, and I hate the guy...

How ironic

Not about how you start. It's about how you finish.

Class act, tough competitor, smart guy, and efficient passer; not too many qbs out there like him. Best of wishes in your future Chad.

i would love to keep him around as a mentor for our future QBs, i think he has done henne some good, it is just the offensive coordinator prohibits what Henne can do.

Yes ... I have been calling for Bernie Parmalee's head now for years as well.
There is a jets fan wanting the same for Pennington as well but it's Ok to go from the Jets to the Dolphins.

Jets to Dolphins is like getting out of jail. Penny was reformed and we love him for it. Not to mention, his revenge was our victory.

At least Pennington had a reason to want to spite that franchise and fan base....

No kidding. Talk about jacked up. I'm so darn happy Penny put the boot to their playoff hopes that year.

Chad Pennington is the only player in the history of the NFL who was successfully able to scrub that green stench off.

IMO, Pennington deserves a spot in the ring of honor: it was because of him that we were able to go 1-15 to 11-5 with a trip to the playoffs.

What did he betray? Miami no longer wanted him. Is he suppose to not make millions of dollars?

He can makes millions of dollars for 28 other teams. NYJ, NE and Buffalo are no no.

Well if any of those other 28 teams were interested then you might have a point. However, there was only 1 team interested.

Is he suppose to be loyal to Miami, when Miami was not loyal to him? He wanted to come back to Miami, but they had zero interest in him.
