Love the signing. He can also do some damage underneath as a slot guy when teams take away the deep parts of the field.

Cedric Wilson is gone.

Agreed. I too like this signing. The Jets QB situation was a mess. I don't think they could get him the ball as often as the should have or as often as they would have liked.

I definitely like this signing and what he can do for us on STs. He wasn't used much last year as a receiver as in year's past, but he can be very dependable in the slot as Rich said.

All these speedy guys. But where's the big guy that can catch passes over the top now that Geseki is gone? Where are your big red zone threats that can catch jump balls. Hill, Waddle and Berrios may be able to stretch the field but their speed does you no good in the red zone.

True, but we are only losing 5 TDs in the red zone. One thing to consider is that Gesicki used to get double-teamed a lot which helped open up routes for the other receivers.

Well, at least Hill and Waddle are major upgrades from the old Albert Wilson and Jakeem Grant days. It would be good to get a new red zone receiving threat though….tight ends typically are great for this, but the boy genius seems more concerned with quick strikes then matriculating down the field. In SF, the line and running game were much better when compared to the Phin’s roster…and that is the missing, or shaky, part of the O scheme at the moment.

Let’s not act like Gesicki had 15 Tds last year. He had 5

I think running precise speedy routes in the red zone can work.

I agree that speed doesn't help in the red zone, but quickness does. It is virtually impossible to cover Waddle or Hill one on one, even in tight quarters, if the QB is decisive and accurate.

I like this signing more than any of the others, because it improves a real area of need. Most of the other signings are just mediocre backups that will just help us tread water.

The recent article in the Sentinel by Chris Perkins was one of the worst analyses I have read about the Dolphins in a long time. On one hand he talks about all the holes in the Dolphins, and on the other he still calls them legitimate Super Bowl contenders. There is still a wide gulf between the Dolphins and the real contenders.

Perkins is a joke as a Dolphins beat writer, his unabashed homerism so over the top that given there are no Sundays between here and September they know nobody's gonna remember what that rag published on a Tuesday in March. Interestingly, it does go hand in hand with the annual off-season Dolphins hype the team always fail to live up to.

Not really. All teams have holes. And if they didn't this past season, they will next season.

Dang, he's fast into his cuts. He's going to be explosive in the slot and as a punt returner.

Jakeem Grant looked great in those training videos too.

He's an upgrade as a returner. I think we'll be happy with what he adds on offense as well, but we'll see.
