Of course he is "the guy". He was held back in that offensive scheme last year.

I'm surprised their coach still has a job after that meltdown in Jacksonville in the playoffs.

In my opinion, Herbert is a stat padder who chokes in big moments.

I'll take the bait and be captain obvious. That is a joke tweet from a Miami fan taking a shot at the critics of Tua aka just because the 5th year option hasn't been picked up doesn't mean Miami doesn't believe in him.

On another note. Rich Eisen is running with the rumor that Tom Brady is not staying retired and is going to Miami once the early offseason mania is over. He claims its the number one rumor he heard at the combine.

Looks like you may be onto something there.

Barry Jackson (Miami Herald) wrote:
Chris Canty, making assumptions that he shouldn’t, said the Dolphins “are not sure about our quarterback based on the health factor and [they want to] see what else is out there to be had in the marketplace. The only reason they’re not exercising Tua’s fifth year option immediately is because they’re not sold on him.”

Actually, not a single team has exercised its fifth-year option on any quarterback in the 2020 class.

It’s commonplace for teams to wait until closer to the deadline. Since the fifth-year option was created in the 2011 CBA, there have been 175 instances of a team exercising a fifth-year option, and only three have happened in March.

Isn't waiting until the deadline just a good business decision?

Any team just incurs more risk by doing these 5th year guarantees early. This is one of the only times a team has 100% leverage on a player contract.

Wait until the last possible minute in case the player gets into a Tiger Woods-like car crash or gets hit by a busload of pregnant nuns.
