Yep, I saw it coming. I actually liked Boyer's aggressive style, and I thought he did his best coaching job this year with all the injuries. Still, his scheme does not get the ball back to the offense quick enough and was costly during our losing streak despite the investment the Dolphins have put along their DL. And, this was a problem last year with Flores/Boyer without the injuries.

Dolphins defensive coordinator Josh Boyer is out after one season with Mike McDaniel. The Dolphins also announced safeties coach Steve Gregory, outside linebackers coach Ty McKenzie and linebackers coach Steve Ferentz won't return.
Miami's defense ranked 18th in yards per game and 24th in points allowed and it wasn't good enough. Miami had key injuries to Byron Jones, Emmanuel Ogbah, Brandon Jones and Nik Needham. But the Dolphins still had good-to-very good players like Xavien Howard, Christian Wilkins, Zach Sieler, Jerome Baker, Jevon Holland, Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb.
It will be interesting to see where McDaniel reaches for his next defensive coordinator.
One candidate of interest after McDaniel took the job is wily veteran Vic Fangio, who is well-respected and could also contribute a steady veteran voice for the youthful coach.
