Better than I expected. What an effort by our defense. Bye Bye Skyler I have seen enough.

I was expecting a blow out so pretty happy that we managed to stay in the game. Just sick of the same old coaching time mgmt mistakes - that needs to change.

It is heartbreaking to be that close and to have had a chance to pull off a win or tie, though.

Right….our 7th round qb battles one of the 4 best teams in the NFL and loses by 3 and you have seen enough. Lol. News flash….Allen had 3 turnovers.

I have had enough of our part time franchise QB and a GM/front office who can’t produce an O Line with boatloads of cash and picks for over a decade. Defense played great. Skylar did a good enough job considering the line sucks and the running game is non-existent. The dude is a backup qb, not our starter ffs.

The defense made that score what it is. The offense was completely inept all game. Bye bye Skylar

Don’t worry, Mr. Glass will be back to play a few games here and there next year. After the heavy contract and high draft pick used to acquire Skylar, I understand your need to move on. Lol…. How about Bridgewater? He sucked and cost a lot more and he is as fragile as the starter, maybe worse.

Wow.......I logged on expecting there to be a fair amount of praise for Skylar. I thought he played well considering the amount of pressure, only his 2nd full game as a NFL QB and playing on the road against what maybe the NFL's best Team.

I don't think the Team will look to spend on a No. 2 QB and may look to draft another this year.

These Shanahan/McDaniel Teams may not require an elite QB. They do require a solid Offensive Line.

there is but it's hard to find with so many stuck on Tua.

Ur right about Skylar's play, handicapped as it was with rookie McDaniels' clock management. Here's hoping he's learned that being funny and witty helps little when jumping from obscurity to head coaching and play calling at the highest level.

We sacked Allen seven times and made all-world QB Josh Allen turn it over three times. Usually you win games when that happens. We just came up a play short (Gesicki and Waddle are both culprits, IMO, and the coaching staff is also at fault for not getting plays called in time).

Buffalo is a Super Bowl favorite, and we beat them in Miami and lost to them by 3 points, twice, in Buffalo, using a 3rd-string, 7th round rookie the second time around. The OL has shown great improvement the second half of the season, despite numerous injuries. Yet some here say we need to stockpile draft picks and start a rebuild.

With a healthy Tua at QB, we are on the right path. This off-season should be spent figuring out whether Tua's concussions will be an ongoing problem. I am sure he will be here next year -- we don't need to make a decision until contract time.

The rushing stats today do not show a good O line. I am interested in where our O line ranks now, because I bet it is bottom 3rd….and lower for rushing. Tua has never played a complete season either.

Haven't we learned enough this wasted season? A "healthy Tua" is an oxymoron.

And I'm no doctor but how can you figure out his propensity for concussions when in the off-season, unless he likes horseback riding or skydiving, he isn't suffering from one? I mean, if it was that simple and given all the time he's been out, they would know something by now.

And yeah, he'll be here next year and probably beyond. Remember, Grier is in charge.

Why do you only use today's game? What about the last two? We ran all over the Jet's vaunted defense. They have shown a lot of improvement, and I expect it to continue, because we finally have good coaching (which is the most important ingredient, IMO).

I’m not gonna not pick all the posts regarding Skyler. Did you guys watch the game? The announcers on numerous occasions pointed out how Skyler missed wide open wrs. He also cost us most of our timeouts with piss poor clock management. I don’t care where he was drafted. Purdy is killing it and we have better offensive weapons and our d today played just as good if not better than the niners. We would have won this game with Tua.

Sky is not Purdy, we know that. Yes there was pressure but he held the ball forever. Despite not having Moestert we ran pretty well and we should have done a LOT more of that. Credit the D for keeping it tight.

Also, Skyler is really good on his feet, a few designed runs would have been good to see.

I thought a few times that he should have run....he probably could have extended a couple drives.

I think it has been noted that McDaniel doesn't get the plays in quick enough at times. First time coach so hopefully this isn't a problem next year.

Hold on. Are you saying that, setting QBs aside, our offense is better than San Francisco's? They have McCaffrey, an all-pro tight end, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Ayuk, and a very good OL. Only Tyreek Hill is better than what they have.

So true. Purdy won again, but he had two 100+ yard rushers! Wilson Jr and Ahmed combined for <30 yards. The O line blows chunks and the coach dials up 45 pass attempts from a 7th round pick.

May the defense could not stack the line cause Purdy can throw? The bulls stacked the line cause Skylar could not throw. See all the 10 man fronts?

Guys, Brock Purdy is a player and the 49ers found a guy who can start in the NFL.

He has plenty of help, which is what a young QB needs, but I can't see much difference between him and Jimmy G when I watch their videos.

He was well prepared coming into the NFL. That makes a big difference.

I'll bet teams will be calling the 49ers about his availability this offseason.

It seems Purdy was on a lot of radars, but playing at Iowa State means evaluation is more difficult….folks playing lesser competition often do not make the leap to the NFL. SF might be looking to move a QB after this season.

For him it came down to size, arm strength, and as you pointed out - the school.

I'm not sure he moves anywhere, but I believe teams will call and ask. He and Trey Lance are completely different QBs, and the 49ers traded a lot of draft capital to get Lance. SF would probably have to be blown away by an offer because both QBs now offer good upside. Have them compete and the whoever ends up as the backup is a very good Plan B.
