….”he did everything he could to get on the field”.

The dude is gone, what is this coach-speak, politically correct drivel? Byron Jones is among the worst Dolphins of all time, obviously not as damaging but he’s on par with the Washington Ducks (or whatever they choose to identify as nowadays) signing Albert Haynesworth.

Mailbag effort. He should hire Grier as his lawyer as well.

He will be a June 1 cap casualty. I am excited to see the improvements that Darth Kadar will make next year in his position.

And Grier has "done everything he could to produce an o-line for the past 10 years..." yet, here we are.

Byron can go hang out in Tahiti with Kliff. Grier can go too, so tired of this patchwork offensive line.

He's been the general manager for 6 years.

I agree. He should have done more when he was not the GM and making the calls.

And only had final say since 2019. Kinda like talking politics with Dems. Don't argue with facts. Feelings overrule facts.

I wonder if Jones never plays in the NFL again if Miami fans will go. “Oh maybe he was injured”

Miami fans acting as if Jones is the first player in NFL history to miss an entire season with an injury

Ah semantics, fine. Yeah not a specific political issue but taking a shot at those that align with the Democratic party. It's still political in nature and is promoting this piece of "because I have conservative views I'm smarter/better than those with more liberal views" analogy sure but it's inserting a political bias to it and you know that.

It's not just the NFL in that it isn't just exclusive to them as an organization. NHL, MLB, NBA......so on and so forth. Conflicting messages to the masses from players, owners, organizations, and then their respective leagues. Fans and non fans at each other's throats over ideologies which then is more virtue signaling on both sides than anything else.

At the core of it, just a ploy to generate attention and money while leaving the masses burned. Most recent example was in Philly the other night. The Flyers do a Pride night, hockey is for everyone. All but one Flyer goes out during warm-ups wearing the themed warmup jersey. Easy hand grenade for the libs/conservatives to get up in arms about with one another. Deeper issue, NHL as a whole doesn't give a crap about gay rights, they just wanna auction off jerseys worn for 20 minutes and donate some and pocket the rest. What a joke. You're almost better off not doing these million different honorary events and let the players do their own charitable fundraising on their own because at least these some modicum of truth that they are organizations they really support and believe in. Though many of those I'm sure are aligned with getting tax breaks too.

We are all abundantly aware of the copious amounts of social issues going on in the world and have opinions about it, just obnoxious to have pieces of them inserted into damn near everything.

To a point I agree. One does it far more often than the other. Also, you are injecting political discussion into a football thread. Something you said you did not want. This is your third comment. If you do not want it, then do not continue to extend it.

Agreed.

What I found most interesting was the jersey of the Flyers player who didn't participate sold out in like a day after the media ran with it. Not sure Saint EJ Hradek expected that one when he told the player to go back to Russia.

The left, of course, interprets this as some deep seeded anti-gay feeling throughout the US, when in reality it is a lot of people supporting a guy who simply wants freedom of opinion. We always seem to let a yapping minority, both left and right, suck up all the oxygen in the room while the normal folks just want to live and let live.

Social media has provided a platform. Now many think if it offends someone, then it must be wrong. As one of my fav. comedians puts it. Just because you are offended does not mean you are right.

If anyone has watched the '90s Stallone movie Demolition Man. We are slowly moving towards that future.

You look at movies, like this one, from 90s and there were plenty of warning signs of what society could become...and you're correct, we are drifting towards a government controlled world where the leaders live like hypocrites well threatening the rest of us with violence if we do not comply.

Mark my words. The next step will be indoctrinating this current generation into electing politicians who will enact laws allowing the government to confiscate all current and future inheritance money (they already tried it once before with Barney Frank). They will argue that it is for the good of our national debt and the true means to equity in this country.

Then you will see a very select few (bureaucrats, politicians, CEOs, compliant celebrities) who find loopholes into keeping money while all others will fork it over to the government.

As you more than likely already know what really scares me is when the government ( as I understand it the current administration is "exploring" this option) goes to a cashless society. The government will replace it with electric or a digital currency then they can control what you spend (you can buy this item but not another based on health, age, status, or combined with the Chinese good citizen program etc.. ) or say in a pandemic which we have been assured more are on the way if they say you need to restrict your travel they can lock your money so you can't spend it outside a five mile radius of your home along with the WiFi connected EV cars everyone will have to drive the government is going to be running our lives in ways that would make big brother look like little league in comparison.

The elites of course will not be subject to these restrictions just like now when Congress passes laws that apply to us but not to them.

. . . Anyways back to Byron Jones.

It has been a cluster F from the beginning, really. From the moment the FO made him the (at the time) highest paid corner in the league- giving him more money than X (only to go back and give X more money)- it has been head scratching and strange. It's kind of surprising to me that the media didn't talk about this weird situation more on a national level. I'm glad they didn't don't get me wrong, but usually they feast on situations like this one. I suppose that could be a reflection of a few things, most notably Tyreek Hill and Tua taking up most of the media time.

Nonetheless, it is difficult to imagine a situation where he returns with the current money owed. But I really don't know much about his relationship with the team other than the subtle jabs from Sam Madison and the fact that a new HC has come to town since he was signed, though I don't really think of that as much of an issue considering Boyer was brought back as DC in general. But Jones was definitely a "Flo" guy from what I remember.
