Do the Dolphins have the draft picks to move up for one of the best QBs next year? If the Dolphins only win half their games and miraculously the 49ers lose half of their games, that is two mid round first round picks. To get Bryce Young (who is on the short side of 6'0") or CJ Stroud they would have to ammo up with a 2024 first round pick in the mix, too. Usually another QB rises from nowhere, too, .... or a veteran QB becomes available which seems the norm these days. Best scenario is for Tua to take another step forward this year and use our two first round draft picks on need positions such as DE/LB/RB.

ESPN’s Todd McShay recently tweeted the reality that any Dolphins fan paying attention already knew: “I think Tua is on a one-year trial to prove he’s the Dolphins’ guy for the future. If not, Miami is loaded with draft ammunition to move up for Alabama’s Bryce Young or Ohio State’s CJ Stroud in 2023.”
After all, the Dolphins have their own first-round pick and San Francisco’s first-rounder in next year’s draft. They also have their own second-round pick and two third-rounders (their own and New England’s from the DeVante Parker trade).
But here’s the problem with that: The teams who all likely need longterm quarterbacks are expected to be the worst teams in the league this season: Atlanta, Detroit and Houston.
