He fills a need. Thoughts? I don’t know too much about him.

Channing Tindall LB, UGA
Height: 6-2, Weight: 230
Speed, speed, and more speed. A blur on the field. But very unpolished as a LB and not a coverage type yet.

He could be the kind of guy you need to spy Josh Allen….speed, speed, speed….but he can not cover.

Saw a lot of mocks predicting this and outside Miami trading out of the position, this is who I was most expecting.

From FOOTBALLGUYS:

43. Channing Tindall (LB-Georgia) - The Georgia defense was so good this year that Tindall, who didn’t start, could easily have a long career as a starter in the NFL. He’s a seek-and-destroy linebacker against the run and should be an effective blitzer, but his coverage skills weren’t fruitful at Georgia, so he’ll need to improve to be an every-down player.

If this guy can come in and play significant minutes and move into a starting role next season, then I think Miami's D is only getting better. That closing speed is impressive. He may not always make the play, but if he is there to blow it up and slow it down, then its a win.

I do believe one of the driving factors for his selection is Josh Allen's running ability. He will be the guy that will shadow him when these two teams play.

I see a lot of blitzes with him.

Here's a lot of Analysis on Channing Tindall on this morning's Phinfever blog. Click the link to help geneate a hit on the blog. Thanks!

By the way, Grier said he tried several times to trade up, but most did not want to trade out of their spot as they had someone in mind. On top of that, Grier said that his 2023 draft selections were off limits ... smart man.

Hey guys. Sorry, been completely swamped with work and kids sports so I haven't been on the boards in a while.

I love this pick for the need it fills. He can rotate with Elandon Roberts and eventually take over.

However, with the way the board shifted I'm wondering if he was BPA at 102. I'm a little surprised they didn't go with Isaiah Spiller but there may be medical or interview issues we are unaware of.

Regardless, I think it was a very good pick for Miami.

This is what this defense needs to help shut down Josh Allen's legs once he decides to run for it. Georgia used him as a QB spy at times.

It’s nice seeing Marino walking around as a Miami official. Feels right, but at the same time…I’d pay Ireland for any kinda draft expertise before I ever sat Dan in that role.

:haha
