I really don't understand what has happened to Lindsay, but if he couldn't run behind that OL at Houston then he probably will not have a lot of success in Miami.

NBC Sports Edge wrote:
Texans waived Phillip Lindsay.

The writing was on the wall after Lindsay saw a mere three rushes in the Texans' Week 11 win over the Titans. Houston ran the ball 32 times and Lindsay was hardly involved. His forgettable half season with the Texans included 50 rushing attempts for 130 yards (2.6 yards per carry) and one touchdown. Once upon a time, Lindsay was a Pro Bowl running back who gained 2,489 total yards in his first two NFL seasons. Rex Burkhead is the Texans' nominal RB1 while David Johnson handles some pass-catching duties. The Ravens' extremely washed backfield could benefit from a Lindsay addition.

Looks like he's now a Dolphin. They just claimed him off waivers.

Probably claimed to prevent Baltimore from getting him.

This is interesting, and I've always liked Lindsay. Which running back gets cut? Ahmed Salmed? He's similar to Gaskin, and isn't used much.

Someone updated Lindsay's wiki profile yesterday.

Sounds like a tailor made Miami RB

Lindsay got a good chunk of plays in his first game:

12 carries for 42 yards, 3.5 ypc

I actually would prefer Lindsay see most of the 1st and 2nd down running plays going forward….Ahmed and Gaskin are change of pace, 3rd down kind of backs.

I agree. Lindsay today seems to be just a touch faster. Quality pickup by the Phins.

He also knows how to fall forward for a yard or two. Something our other backs have seemed incapable of.

He looked like our best RB today.

I hope you guys are right. I've always thought Lindsay was "just a guy", who benefitted from a good line and strong running scheme in Denver. He isn't really a powerful back, which is what we need.

We were able to run late in the game because of the success of the passing game. Had we needed it to be the other way around, we would be screwed.

Nice blocking there by Reiter and Austin Jackson….huge hole for Lindsay to exploit.

He fell forward at tackles picking up 1 or 2 where I think the other guys would have been stopped for no gain. It's not much but it helps. I do think he's a good spark and is earning more touches.

I have to think that one of the other guys (Duke Johnson or Patrick Laird) will have a hard time sticking. Of course, Johnson is on the practice squad, so maybe he's safe. A top tier RB is still a need for this offseason for sure, to go with the guys we currently have.
