I really don't think so as I am seeing receivers running wide open and being covered by new players on our team. I think Bobby McCain was more important in this defense than people realize. He's just a smart player. Offenses know which couple of players to target on 3rd down. I love the aggressiveness of this defense. They are rolling the dice. I think the defense will improve as the offense improves and lets them rest their wheels.

Barry Jackson (Miami Herald) wrote:
A unit that was sixth in scoring defense last season (21.1 points per game) has slipped to 25th in that category (27.3 points per game). A unit that was first in third down defense is now 31st, ahead of only Washington.

Baker said one issue is players not always doing their precise jobs. “None of the guys we have are intentionally messing up or losing their mind,” he said. “It’s those little things [such as] hand placement is wrong. In this defense, those little things add up to losing games.”

Could it be that teams have figured out Miami’s defense? “You could always play the could-be game, but history wise this has been a great defense,” Baker said. “We are not going to sit back and say ‘it could be this or that.’ It could be players on the field not getting it done. We’re not about to say... coaches are wrong. We are the ones on the field. We’re the ones that have to turn it around.”

Unfortunately they won't improve enough to handle Brady and Co. We are going to get clobbered on Sunday. Facts.

You never know. We seem to get the better of Brady once a year, but he has some real weapons at TB.

The defense get's gassed when the offense is 3 and out and not scoring points until garbage time.

That garbage time is a mirage that benefits Brissett. It gives the coaches hope that it will work, but we know better as they designed a dink and stink offense for Tua. You'll see it again as the offense bogs down for the first 3 quarters on Sunday. It's awful and killing a good defense.

Not only does Brady have amazing weapons on offense, he's got a line that is well above average. The Dolphins defense won't get to him. If we had the Bucs line on this team, Tua would still be playing.

On the other side of the coin, you'd think the Dolphins passing offense would look good seeing as the Bucs secondary (which isn't that good to begin with) is banged up. But with Brissett back there behind a porous offensive line, that negates that.

It's going to be a long afternoon.

It's funny....before Brady got here, all the media talked about was how awful the Bucs OL was and if they improved Winston would be a top 5 QB. Now with a QB back there, the line is above average. Look at Marino, did he have a great OL for 17 years? Nope, he had smarts and a super quick release yet the OL got praise, which is good. Now since '00 our OL has sucked every year.

It’s both, not one or the other.

Maybe it was Winston throwing those boneheaded picks that was the issue.

Lets not act like Miami's OL were not good. They are really good pass blockers, but not very good run blockers.
